That question always makes me cringe. The checkers at the store inevitably ask about our weekend plans. The trip to get groceries is usually the big excitement 🥹

I was at Harris Teeter yesterday and (IF you can find a checkout person now a days) the question is always "Did you have a good weekend?", etc.

I know they really don't give a fig, but are just trying to find something to say to pass the time while the soup cans are rolling down to the bag person.

And yes --- I feel that people are do disappointed when they are asking me what I did interesting and/or exciting over the weekend! I mean --- as written in the picture -- this is me, this is my life! What can I say?

Maybe it's part of the customer service standard when they were trained to be courteous and kind to the customers. Years ago it was acceptable and a nice gesture so why doesn't it stand for the same thing today? I think it's nice that the younger generation is using some old-school personality standards.

I noticed that when people ask about my weekend. When I don't ask them about their weekend they get annoyed. It is like they are bursting at the seams to talk about their weekend.
