$1390 stimulus checks

Has anybody heard about $1390 stimulus checks that are supposed to be issued by IRS in August or September? There was an announcement on several outlets last week but I looked on IRS website and see zilch. Supposedly this stimulus will impact low and medium income taxpayers.

I read 2 newspapers a day. Haven't read a thing.

I find that info highly suspicious. Can't imagine why the IRS would be sending out stimulus checks. They are a tax collection agency. The Fed Govt has sent out checks before but can't remember the IRS ever doing that.

I listen to multiple network news casts and read Facebook all da6 long and have never heard such a rumor. I feel sure it's not true. I wouldn't go shopping thinking it might be coming.

Definitely not happening. It was an idea floated in response to tariff questions, but it was a vague statement at best.

Some states are sending out stimulus checks. We're supposed to get $400 here in NY, but it's ok if we don't get it.

Colorado issues refunds for excess revenue generated by sales tax. Inflation and population growth govern how much the amounts total each year. It's a significant amount for each citizen.

@Tori3569 in New York I think you are getting checks as a refund for over payment. It's not stimulus. That's a good thing.

A $1390 stimulus check for eligible Americans is not a new federal initiative that's been approved by Congress or the IRS. Rumors circulating online claiming otherwise are false and should be disregarded as misinformation. The IRS has explicitly stated that no new stimulus payments will be distributed this summer.

The NYS check that is coming is basically a refund of above budgeted sales tax revenue that the state collected due to inflation prices.

A number of states have done this, but it's new in NY. Looking forward to receiving mine. The intent is not to "stimulate" anything.

No refunds in Colorado this year. Colorado has over spent to support other programs. It has never been a "significant" amount. A couple hundred bucks even when there were millions available.

I get notifications all the time about this on my phone but never click on the link to read. Until the actual government says something it is not happening.
