I usually buy Talbots or Chicos jeans when there's a good sale. Obviously I don't care about trendy jeans. LOL.

I am thinking about trying Quince jeans that are $50.

Purses are hard, almost impossible, to find for that price.

OT - Though both sayings have a nice ring to it, there are circumstances that shouldn't be the case. For instance, I would never smoke, do illegal drugs or drive drunk. Never.

of course you can fInd stuff on Amazon for cheap. I have a friend who carries a $13 small crossbody bag from there. It's a plasticky material and wont last long but that doest bother her

My favorite and best fitting jeans ever were Gloria Vanderbuilt's from Costco-$12 I think and Riders, I think they were called from Walmart. I don't think they sell those anymore but they were under $20.

Maybe if you are used to spending more on clothes that is what you imagine all clothes must cost. Or that maybe some feel nothing is good quality unless it costs a certain amount.

I've always believed it's all marketing and "what the market will bear." Also where they are able to have things manufactured. Some just are good strategists and know how to manage to sell low and still make $.

@ThinkingOutLoud Jeans, yes I would and have. A purse, not much more than that. Those Dooney and Burke prices are insane (to me anyway.)

I have found great deals at Ross/Marshalls/TJMaxx/Burlington Coat Factory. I got some Gloria Vanderbilt from one of those and they were the best fitting ones I've ever had and it was great wearing them knowing how little I paid. Total win!

@on the bay. I've bought Gloria Vanderbilt jeans on Amazon in the past few years. They're great when you first put them on but in a couple of hours of sitting, they're stretched out.

I learned my lesson with purses. I was always buying cheap handbags until they broke about two to three months in.

I added it up and for a little bit more a year, I could buy a low end designer bag (Coach) for not much more money. Still have the first one I ever bought in pristine condition too.

Quality can save you money in the long run. Do the math if you are throwing something away on a regular basis.

That's disappointing to hear about them stretching out. I never had that happen at all but I got mine several years ago. I bet they may have changed manufacturers.

My jeans usually run around $45.00 on sale. As far as handbags, yes I do spend around $300.00 and still have some from the '90's. These bags (Dooney's-Brahmin's) last decades longer than the $30.00 handbags from Walmart, Target or similar retailers.

As far as makeup and skincare, absolutely not, I am going to the drugstore brands in that field.
