Wow. That's an interesting list and thanks to the OP for posting it! I am a Boomer.

From my perspective we're just faces in the crowd of millennia. Nothing glorious or special. Part of the story of humans, who aren't that different as time goes on. Just luckier than many.

I was born in 1944, before the end of WWII. My dad was stationed in what was called the Army-Air Force, giving phys ED to pilots.

I remember my early years in school. We had to practice crawling under our desks "in case of a bomb." Can you imagine?

We were very family- centered and religious. No fresh talk was allowed at home or in school. Good manners were taught. Caring for others was so important.

So much has changed in society, our country, and the world.

I remember the Vietnam war with all its controversy. I also remember the assasinations of Martin Luther King, President Kennedy, and "Robert Kennedy.

How wonderful that laws were made to protect minority people. That was a long time coming. And I recall the moon

landing as another great achievement.

Looking back, married in 1966, DH and I raising two children.

We have been through so much, and the sorrow of each losing both parents. It is all quite a whirlwind, looking back.

Hard to believe how old we are!

@Toots711 Thank you so much for this post. I was a War baby 1945 just before the end of the War. I went through all those things you typed here. I am proud to have been through this life as I learned a lot. My mother was the only one who worked in my family as my father had the big heart attack that Eisenhower had. We made it through all these years and all came out OK. God bless all who made it through these past 80 plus years. It's been a long haul.

I am old, born in1943, but realize how blessed we were to have the childhood we had. Having fun using our imagination, trading comic books, riding our bikes everywhere and just playing outside with our neighborhood friends. It was a wonderful time and is a way of life the kids now could never imagine.

This is truly wonderful and yes, I would say I remember and have experienced so much of this. DH and I say quite often that we would not have wanted to be part of any other generation. Our music also has stood the test of time and is the best ever. We have seen so much and done so much. A lot of good, a lot of bad. A lot of happiness and a lot of sadness. We are a strong and resilient generation! To us!!!!

So well said! I'm a 1944 baby too and have your same memories. I well remember my great grandparents who were born in 1863 during the Civil War. It's been quite a ride. Hubby, 1941, and I grieve for parents and grandparents, but we are blessed to still have each other after nearly 60 years. We're now facing health challenges, but we thank God for putting us on this earth at the time we have passed through.
