Channel surfing and was astonished/shocked to see choice of 2 fruit pies for $77 and then $89 for 2 quiches. Did I see this correctly or my glasses need cleaning?

Anyone getting these?

The food prices are so high. We bought a Juniors 7" chocolate mousse cheesecake in a Junior's restaurant for $40.00. The Q is almost double....for the same thing.

QVC food prices include free shipping in dry ice. To some people, the convenience factor is worth the price. Comparing prices from other sources, especially local or homemade ones, sounds like comparing apples to oranges.

And once again, some people don't bake, have limited ability to get around, can afford it and would like a treat for Mothers Day or another occasion.

Also perfect to send someone who lives far away a gift, as I just did. The cost of packaging and shipment is included, which is significant if anyone has checked recently.

i just paid $20 in store for a cherry pie. if i wanted it delivered from the store that would be an extra $10. the "free shipping" isnt really free, but we all already know that, right? for those of you who are ordering......ENJOY!

I saw the same. But...shipping and handling is FREE... wonder how much of that is absorobed into the price ....which seemed quite high to me.

Even if you bought them to ship them to someone they would have to bake them. What if they burned them, or their oven didn't work right? Just like the bacon, 3lbs for 89.98 and you still have to cook it and same thing what if you burn it.

I do not bake, love to cook but hate to bake-especially pies. So I have bought their pies more than once, last year I bought a peach (DH's fave) and I think cherry or apple. They were larger pies and yep, I had to bake them before eating them . . . they were wonderful and worth every penny to me.

@We rescue cats ---I can buy the same thing from our local farmers market--for about $27 each. And they are to die for!! I think they were closer to 12" in diameter and at least 3" tall. All hand made from local farmers produce AND--they were already baked!! AND....I got to take them home immediately--the best thing----AND can I just say--nothing like a peach pie for breakfast----lunch-----dinner !!!

As long as thousands of buyers can afford to pay the price for those pies they will continue to sell them. Clearly, QVC sells millions of food items at their prices.

Like someone else said, not everyone can get out or has access to some of the food products offered.

Very true. Look at how much a dinner can cost at a fine restaurant. In 15 mins time, you've chewed and swallowed over a hundred dollars of meat. Gone, down the hatch.

Somehow I doubt that people are buying these pies on a weekly basis. They are probably purchased for holidays like Easter, mother's day, etc.
