Thanx for starting off May @Bird mama, sure will have a ton of May flowers with over a week of rain here, more due today, can't even get out to the back fence for the goodies LOL

Had a lovely dinner out last nite with friends in from Florida, they sure didn't like the weather, they didn't bring the sunshine with them but the company/food were great.

Today is really a late start for me, must get my act together

Hello all, I think I see the sun trying to shine through the clouds. I'm hearing that we are in for good weather this weekend which is great - I have Friday and Monday off.

Hooray the sun is shining, first time in over a week, makes me want to sun bathe lol, but still cool & windy, tomorrow to be 70ish so that's good.

Not much going on today, some laundry, etc, hope to grill tonite as I did get the tanks filled at a bargain price so I'm set for the rest of the year.

Not much in the house but did leave some cookies & coffee at the back fence, hope Sadie doesnt get there first hah

Sadie was fast, but I was faster and beat her to the fence for the cookies. I told her Sadie, sorry sweetie, I have the advantage, I have thumbs, lol.

The sun is shining here, for how long, I don't know.

The weather is supposed to be nice this weekend and I've been 'talking up' the outside to Rocky the rescue pigeon. I've also been reminding myself that Rocky belongs outside, with others of his kind.

Out of the two us, I think I'm the one who needs convincing.

@Bird mama When an animal I was fostering left with the new owners, I had pangs as even though they seemed like wonderful pet owners, one really never knows, and after taking care of an animal for months, I was attached and knew they would be safe with me, but I knew I couldn't keep them all, though I kept plenty, lol, so off they went.

Hello all, I thought for sure we were in for sunny days and I awoke to gray skies and a bit of drizzle :-(

My trees are finally budding and my grass looks so lush and green.

Well all you latecomers might be in for a shock as I really had my fill at @Bird mama burrito bar, yum, yum!

Sunny skies today, hooray! a little cool but to be 70ish tomorrow, think it'll a good day to hang out sheets.

Youngest DD stopped by this AM on her way to Detroit for work, to drop off plants I ordered from SGS soccer team, now my counters are a disaster, been too cool to plant outside, hope they all survive.

Otherwise nothing much happening here, hope all are well.

Good Morning, it's a beautiful day in my part of the country. The sun is shining and it's expected to reach the low 70's. The next 14 days were forecasted to be no cooler than 65 degrees so I released Rocky back to friends and family this morning.

I posted details about the release in the May Bird's Nest.

Afternoon, we're supposed to get to 80 today, sure is nice outside but cold in the house, have the deck door open & the windows trying to warm it up as it's to be much cooler tomorrow, so still do not want to "plant". Didn't get up early enough to get the sheets hung out oh well Summer is coming. Tonite is ribs on the grill, have had a yen for these for a long time so weather today is perfect, if any are left will set them out at the back fence enjoy

Rain again last night - will not complain as we still need a lot of that stuff - so no cooking on the grill. Had given thought to using it for a couple nights running - no such luck. Don't think anyone wants to stand out there and get soaked. LOL. But at the same time, feathered friends are waiting for their feeders to be filled also.

Cats seem to be abundant in my yard these days - not mine - and that is rare. I think Don's kitties are doing more and more roaming. For years it has been amazing that the multitude of cats he rescues and brings home stay in his yard - they ain't doing that much any more. Have no clue how many he has but it is a lot. He is a good soul when it comes to cat - and dog - rescue, but mostly cats. With all the cats that now hang out here I am still amazed at the gophers and ground squirrels. Grrrrr. Neighboring homes have level ground which tells me they are not suffering what I do. LOL.

OK, will leave some more bagels and cream cheese. Coffee this morning is also a must.

Freddie, we've been through this - he he he.

Since squirrels are good with their hands, I'm pretty sure it was a squirrel who took a picture of your house and posted it on the animal internet. I know what that's like, because they did it to me.

Clouds are moving in here and it looks like rain could be coming. At least we had one nice sunny day yesterday.

I need to get a move on to the pet cemetery. My Ma's dog, my first dog and my Ma are buried there. What can I say, Ma made me promise to cremate her and put her ashes in the dirt with her beloved dog so I did it.

We won't talk about the legality of it (wink).

Every April and October the staff of the cemetery clears off the graves of old,worn decor'. The solar lights I left on the graves will still be there because I don't let the graves get funky looking.

That said, I bought new ones for spring.

My dog will get the green, Ma and her dog will get the purple (Ma loves purple).

I know what you mean Bernie - but some of the critters I sure wish would disappear - i.e. ground squirrels, gophers and whatever else is helping to ruin my yards. I know the drought caused a lot of upheavals but those animals drive me insane. And like I said, the neighboring houses that do nothing have level ground and obviously no squirrels and/or gophers. Go figure.

Shortly will be time to get Davey up and moving - he has been somewhat of a whatever this weekend. Sulked in his bedroom ALL weekend, taking food in there which is a no no and not speaking when spoken to. While he is a good kid compared to many his age, his complete disrespect of his elders truly bothers me.

Bringing some cinnamon toast this morning - eat up. Of course coffee is almost an always!!

Oh, I understand what you are saying. I am host to at least 1/2 a dozen squirrels. My squirrels tend to shed and get a new coat all at once at this time of year so I have been watching a patchy/mangey (I know it's not the mange though) black squirrel who has been burying sunflower seed, peanuts all over my yard.

The squirrel is female and pregnant as all get out. My back yard is hilly - small hills and bumps, not immacutely flat like my neighbors.

This is why I have a self propelled lawnmower. As I was cutting the grass on Friday that lanwmower took me on a bumpy walk.

My front yard is smoother and I am just thankful I don't have big holes that I could break an ankle in.

I have a skunk that feels quite safe in my yard. I sometimes wish is felt safe in somebody else's yard. That smell can wake me up at 3 am with all the windows closed!!!

I have a groundhog - I call it Gerry (since it could be male or female) that lives under my concrete porch. We've had a groundhog under the front porch for nearly 15 years. I assume Gerry's parents and grandparents lived here first - I don't know life expectancy of groundhogs.

There is something about us Winifred - they find us. I can say that my Ma had the same thing about her and she passed it to me. My two sisters didn't get it. I don't even know what "IT" is, I just accept that Ma had it and I have it.

I don't have to be at home, they find me in public.

Yep, my Mother loved critters also. My daughter, however, took the cake. She was known to walk right into a house and remove a dog being mistreated. I use to panic and tell her someone is going to shoot you girl - you best not do that. And all the critters she found came to my parents house for their care. My Dad just shook his head yet my Mother enjoyed every minute. My daughter was their first grand and I always believed in many ways, their ONLY grand. When my daughter died so very young, my parents suffered beyond comprehension. They never got over it to any degree. Only dog that came to my house was from the dog pound which my younger brother helped her rescue - he and she were only 4 years apart and super close. What one of them did not think of the other one could - it was always hard on both of them when we moved in different directions but then my Dad retired from the military in the early 60s and they came out here. By the way my daughter was only about 5'1". She drove big rigs for a while - that was hilarious to see as she had to be really propped up.

Hello all, just thought I would let you know that I've heard from @Epicurean. She had surgery a couple of weeks ago and feels like she has turned a corner as far as feeling better. She still needs to take it easy and not lift more than 10 pounds, but she is recovering.
