Shabbat Shalom and welcome to this inclusive thread. We share thoughts, plans and friendship here every Friday.

Going to look at one more apartment that our realtor found. It's a little further out of town, but we'd get an additional 800 sq. ft.....and another walk in closet (!!!). So, we may lose the deposit on the one we chose, but worth it if this is a great complex. I just want all the moving chaos over.

I wish you all a great weakend with wonderful weather (72 here tomorrow), supportive friends and a loving family around you.

We have a busy Weekend. Dinner with family tonight, travel to see friends tomorrow... will spend the night there, and back home on Sunday late afternoon.

Good morning all. Wishing everyone a safe and happy weekend. It's supposed to start warming up here next week. Snow today but by mid week next week ... 60s!!!! Crazy weather.

@Shanus Good luck with your search. I understand downsizing, but making sure you still have enough storage space and room! I hope your are successful with this next viewing and can put your moving to a close. Let us know.

Good morning. We have a quiet weekend on tap so we'll enjoy that. Quite chilly again in the northeast today but will get back to the 50's on Sunday. Weather is changing for sure and I don't feel the winter was all that bad, considering.

We are heading off to a cruise tomorrow morning at 3am. Driving to Jacksonville.

@LindaSal Hello Linda. I hope this "looking" and deciding will soon be over and I get on with furniture, etc. We've sold our huge dining room complete room of furniture and our original very large and dark country French bedroom set which I had moved upstairs for the kids when we moved in here.

I'm hoping to swing the other way a bit and go lighter wood and less fussy.

@cindyNC Time's running out, Cindy. The house goes on the market May/June. Not much time left.

We had tile men here yesterday fixing grout in the shower and on the clay tile floors in kitchen and sunroom. We had the entire house painted a neutral white shade 2 yrs. ago and didn't hang too much back up to make holes.

I think we're almost a "go"!!

I'm fighting a pesty cold for a week or so but thankfully not COVID. Not much planned, just resting & relaxing.

@Shanus ...im surprised you'd want to move into an apartment after owning your own home...its a huge adjustment. I know you have your reasons, and I wish you and hubby the best!!

Maybe you'll decide to buy another

house after you see what apartment living is like...maybe a smaller house, with property that's maintained by the association??

Hope you both are healthy and maybe you want travel, etc...enjoy whatever you decide.

I've always owned my own home, then we moved to a different state that was a 2 hour trip to my husband's work...and I had 3 children one was still a baby. So we decided on a townhouse, 2 stories a finished basement. Grounds and townhouse all maintained, but we had our own little area front and back for gardening and a porch in front and patio out back...pool and gym on the premises too. ..that was a very good choice at the time.

Then we moved to Florida...back to a house.

Now I'm on 5 areas, house, barn, dogs and horses.

We say...we'll stay as long as we can...we love it.

I will say...we are very tied down here. It would take alot of plans and help for us to travel.

Oh...I relate to all the furniture ,selling, re-doing...it alot

..but you'll love it once it's all settled. Good luck!!

@Dazlin I appreciate your concern and know the adjustment will take time. I'm 76 and DH is almost 81. That would be a smart move elimating stairs, townhouses, etc. We looked and the master is on the second floor.

We have long term care insurance with full coverage benefits, so can stay in where ever we choose to live until we can no longer live alone....or one's left alone.
