They are now deleting anything copyrighted here now...and I posted snoopy a few days ago and it was deleted.

Plus I think another one that I shared.

Im afraid to post any pics now!

Snoopy, and all other Peanuts characters are the intellectual property of Peanuts Worldwide. You can't use those images without permission.

If it's not your work and you copied it from another source, it's likely copyrighted.

Peanuts Worldwide, which owns the copyright to all Peanuts art, strictly forbids anyone from sharing or sending licensed art of Charles Schulz's characters, including Snoopy, in any way, shape or form, without permission and licensing.

(Rule of thumb: if the image includes a recognizable cartoon character, there is a very good chance that use of the image is protected.

These images are licensed often for greeting cards, but re-use is frequently restricted or has terms of use such as proper attribution. If in doubt, do a quick search.

Most Disney, Peanuts, Marvel Comics, DC Comics type images, for example, are vigorously protected by owners.)

Taking a picture of a recipe in a book and posting it is a copyright violation. However, if the author of the book posts a recipe online, you can share it because the author has already released that recipe to the public.

@CherryHugs. That would be impossible as there are probably a billion items with copyrights. They usually have the copyright symbol "C" in a circle. The mods recently removed one of mine that did not have that symbol. I'm clueless as to what made them think it was copyrighted. As I recall, it was a photo.

When posting pictures make sure that the image doesn't have a copyright stamp (a "C" inside a circle) or that it doesn't have a watermark stamped onto the image somewhere. Also avoid posting images that have dot com stamped on it. Finally, don't post anything that says in plain sight that it is copyright protected.

@tansy Yes it was her. Each time a post was deleted there was a note that she was risking being banned.

She kept it up and I'm guessing she finally got banned.

She just wouldn't pay attention to the warnings and there were **many** of them. A scofflaw IMO.

I respectfully disagree.

We have a published author in our family. All of their work, as well as their website is copyrighted. They will, from time to time, post exerpts from their work on the website. If I provide a link to the website to someone, that's fine as it's directling folks to work that is owned and protected by the author. If someone copies and pastes content from the website, it's a copyright violation. Believe me, their copyright lawyer vigorously pursues all instances of copyright violations that become known to them.

If people would leave other posters alone, instead of policing everyone they don't like and reporting and reporting and reporting, we wouldn't have a problem. Posts are removed when they are reported by fellow posters HERE.

Right now there are threads with hundreds of memes and pictures that I'm sure are not of posters creation. Who cares if it's copyrighted, unless you are the author?

I recall a post some time ago from a moderator indicating that QVC was contacted by a copyright holder about violation and illegal use.

Some copyright holders very aggressively search for violations across the internet and some don't. Currently, QVC may focus on those where there has been a past issue. Who knows why.

@They CallMe MRWILKES Hallmark has had licensing rights with

Peanuts Worldwide for 60+ years.

I remember when Hallmark first started to produce Peanuts products, specifically Snoopy.

I believe only Hallmark has that right.🙂

This sounds like you are advocating for ignoring the rules and saying or doing whatever "you" want and the rest of the members should just s**k it up.

As to who may care whether something is copyrighted or not I would think first and foremost is the entity that faces huge costs in damages for allowing the copyrighted material to be posted.

It is a serious enough situation that forum guidelines specifically prohibit copyrighted or trademarked content.
