First or still is the Age of Possibility, now we have

alive with Possibility, this is so wierd and dumb.

People have been 50 and over for decades, why

are they so obsessed with this.

Well, it's Sales and Marketing 101 .... every retailer has to have promotions and proclaim something as "new".

Secondly, a high percentage of QVC's regular customers are over 50 years of age.

So ... on paper .... this would look like a win-win promotion.

I didn't find anything changed when I turned age 50. I still had the same opportunities and possibilities as I had at 30.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about. Doesn't QVC realize we have laws that protect all people from lack of opportunity after age 40? It's not necessary to create a circus over the fact that a woman or man ages. As if we didn't have enough to worry about, they're just creating unnecessary anxiety in those who don't know it boils down to sales hype.

I've known this marketing fact for many years but I just googled the stats - The top spenders are Americans age 55-75 who spend a total of $ 548.1 Billion annually (we know most spenders are women). This is NOT a new statistic. I can't understand WHO didn't already know this.

I'm beyond understanding what they are trying to accomplish. I'm way over 50 and there are many things in my life that are beyond possible and I don't care what they are trying to drill into my head. So I guess I'll just be happy with the fact that I'm alive and breathing. I find watching just depresses me.

the prices are so high on qvc that there is no way people can POSSIBLY afford it.

69.00 for a shirt. Etc. not right.

Alive with possibility made me laugh.... like the alternative is dead without possibility. Their marketing doesn't personally bother me, though....whatever it is.

Well, you have nailed it! This whole soap opera created to make money. I am shocked!

I was doing some research (I do research all the time) re the new product being unveiled on the Q.

I found one influencer who was most interesting. It seems that one of QVC's ambassadors of womandoom already

created a line of feminine products that failed.

That said, this influencer said she is grateful that the topic of menopause is open to discussion. However, she is very critical of celebrities who create formulas very similar to many on the market. She has said that they are using their celebrity name to sell a product, much less in quantity, for a big profit.
I agree with her statement entirely. So much of this Mid-Life

focus is based on selling.

This show was the ultimate in boring, nothing interesting or fun about it. I tried to watch and it was just awful, a big miss in my opinion. If this is any indication of the following shows, I'm out.

IMO, Q is throwing schtick at the wall to see what works. They need sales. They're willing to do anything, no matter how low class. To ask hosts to act like obnoxious teens to get attention and sales is demeaning. I think it's demeaning to viewers.

For me.....

Work, not my life, changed when I hit 60. I was high enough up to know what went on inside. I took a lot of heat because I wasn't as strict with my employees as they wanted. I knew there were cases of discrimination (various reasons). I saw my brother deal with it for years. I knew of all kinds of things. Still do.

I had a great career for 38 of my 40 years with what grew to be a huge corporation. But I never saw the blatant ageism and sexism until the last couple of years.

Imagine executives saying:

At your age, have you thought about retiring?
Why would someone your age still want to work?
You're so old that.....
When will you retire?
At your age......
You're older so ......
You're an older woman so why not rely on your husband?
You're a woman so you're not qualified for the position. (Yes, a male executive said that to me when I was 57)
You're older so you wouldn't understand.
Women just don't get it.
And that's just a few lines I heard on a regular basis.

Within 6 months of my retirement, they had let go everyone in my division who was over 60 or had over 25 years at the company. They can pay younger and newer workers less.

This has become corporate life. If you don't see it, you're not looking close enough.

@CalminHeart I can relate to everything in your post. At a certain age, most will face the Age Of Impossibility, regardless of their education, earned credentials and job status.

It's cute that the Q is focusing on all the possibilities. I wish it was true, but it will remain a fantasy for many.

I have witnessed people set-up for failure. Long term employees are making great salaries and benefits. They become a problem for the CEO's and Admin's who want to continue getting their huge salaries and bonuses.

Early on, you're a power player (awards and everything), but with aging, all of a sudden you can't do anything right, even if you are the one repeatedly called on to train the younger, new staff coming in. Yes, those they plan to replace you. Cha-ching.

You realize your days are numbered. As a senior, it's a full time job, just trying to protect yourself. Grand possibilities only happen on Hallmark movies.

I am glad they realize they are alive, so now they can have possibilities!! It is sure a desperate attempt to realize they are 50 and older. I would never waste my time listening or watching them, I'd am too busy reading a good book.

I can relate because I was working in technology; two months after 9/11, I was laid-off.

I was 41.

The others who were laid-off were, coincidentally, over 40, too.
