Did or Do You Knit, CROTCHET, Sew Or Quilt?😊

If you did any of these, what are some of the things you make, or made?

My dear mother was an expert crocheter and quilter and did the most BEAUTIFUL❤ work! She would crochet scarves, vests, berets, pot holders, ponchos, blankets and TRIED to teach me but my work was rudimentary at best!😁 I even tried to learn how to sew when my children were young so that I could save money on clothing, but was NEVER any good at it! I know these are STRESS RELIEVERS and therapy for for many people, but not for me!🥰

I have done all in the past except quilting my arthritis prevents me from crocheting, Last thing I knitted was a blanket for an old friends grand baby and he is now 6

@SandySparkles I knit, crochet and do counted cross stitch . It is very relaxing for me.

All of my grandchildren have baby blankets that I crocheted for them I 've had some of my counted cross stitch projects professionally mounted and framed.

My mother was an excellent knitter and I have some of her beautiful items she created. For some reason I had difficulty in learning how to knit so I finally gave up and decided to learn to crochet. I made all different things, sweaters, a bedspread, doilies, Christmas trees. I do not crochet anymore but I loved my time doing so!

I can knit. I used to knit afghans. Got away from it. I'm left handed but I knit right handed. I never could learn to crochet - couldn't do it righ handed and my Mom couldn't teach me left handed.

My Mom was a pro at all of this stuff and more. I was never interested in sewing - sorry I didn't learn at least to hem.

I knit, sew, do machine embroidery work, and hand embroidery. Very relaxing and the pieces I create are so appreciated.

@SandySparkles I have more hobbies than I have time.

I do crochet & I love it but I have only made 5 hats (1 for each grandson) & then I make dish cloths. Because they are fast, don't require a lot of counting & they are useful.

I tried to learn knitting but it didn't take. The teacher was not great.

I sew almost every day right now! I don't quilt (too thinkie & fiddly for me.) or clothes (those patterns are like math problems & my head says NO.).

I make lined totes, lined zipper pouches, pillow cases...I love fabric, interfacing, zippers, thread....

All of my grandsons have also made pillow cases & then various capes & things for stuffed animals, but I have taught them all the basics of sewing.

@SandySparkles None of the above, LOL! My mom used to crochet, she made hats for the grand kids and blankets over the years, most of it we still have and she has been gone many years. What I remember most though is she made baby blankets doing the Hair Pin Lace technique. We used to help her with crocheting the rows when we were pre teens. It was the only thing I was ever good at but I never did learn how to crochet the rows together. I also took Home Economics in school and had sewing class, never got the hang of that either. Oh well,

I knit and I know how to crochet --I prefer knitting.

I learned how to knit after a severe health issue and my mother set me up with lessons.

I guess more people throw their yarn but I knit by picking or Continental. It is easier for left handers.

I knit because I hate to just sit and do nothing when I am watching tv.

It is also a stress reliever.

I have made everything from a ribbon yarn dress that my sister wore to a wedding and to her daughter's baptism --to sweaters--and shawls and wraps and scarves and hats and throws or blankets. I have knit purses and totes also.

My father always stated that he had a scarf and a hat for every day of the week.

I've crocheted many afghans over the years. Back in the 70s I made a couple of those crochet vests with tassels that we used to wear LOL.

I've tried knitting but I'm just not good at it. I seem to drop stitches at the end of the row, and it just feels awkward to me.

My favorite hobby now is quilting. I've made quite a few quilts for my family. Their favorites are the halloween and xmas quilts. Novelty quilts. I've donated over 50 quilts to the local humanitarian center.

I also make and sell bags.

I quilt, sew and knit. When I was younger I made a lot of my clothes. Also, made clothes for many family members. Made suites for my Mom and an Aunt. I don't make clothes any longer as good fabric is hard to find.

Quilting is my favorite. Love to cut and peice a quilt. Sewing I make curtains and shopping bags.

In the past did a lot of crossstitch. However, as I have gotten older my eyesight makes it too hard to do this type of craft. I have a lot of crossstitch fabric and patterns. Tried to sell, but no one in my area is interested.

I started knitting baby blankets as the local hospital takes donations for these for new moms. Also, knit scarves for a local charity that collect items for cancer patients for Christmas gifts.

I can knit and crochet and I have made crochet baby blankets, crocheted a huge stuffed elephant for my grandson and a few knitted tops. I like crochet better than knitting and I'm getting ready to start a crochet sweater for my 8 yo grandson. Patterns used to be free to print off the internet but I see now that you have to purchase most of the patterns. Bummer !
