ARGAN OIL

Does anyone know if ARGAN OIL has an expiry date? I was cleaning out my closet & found two bottles & before I throw them away I was wondering if they are still good to use... I have them over a year.... THANKS😁

@January121 Sniff them and see how they smell. All oils eventually become rancid as they age.

@January121 No expiration date on the bottles? Strange. There are expiration dates on every product I have from JM.

If you had them that long I don't know if I would want to use it on my face, but as long as it doesn't smell rancid it would use it on my hair ends and cuticles.

Most cosmetic oils have a self life of 18 to 24 months. It's best to store them in the fridge, especially the larger bottles. Take some out of the larger bottle and put it in a smaller bottle which you can leave out at room temp. That way the rest will keep fresh longer. Whenever you need to take some more out of the larger bottle then let it come to room temp first, give a few shakes and then pour off what you need.

Cosmetic oils are natural products and can go bad, just like butter or olive oil can also go bad. Buy small bottles of oils rather than bigger ones and don't stock up. Avoid having them go rancid.

I've had some of my Josie Maran argan oil bottles in a dark cool place for up to 2 years and used without a problem. Sniff test may tell you something. Mine have all been fine.

@SilleeMee As usual I agree with the frig. and not purchasing super sizes even though they may seem a bargain. Small bottles for daily use and even my creams and lotions are sometimes purchased or transferred to small travel size jars....Also less clutter at the sink.
