CHRISTMAS DINNER TODAY

Because I really didn't have much of a Christmas,I am having it today.Ham,corn casserole,and mashed potatoes are on the menu.Sound Silly?Actually I needed room in my freezer,so I thought today would be a perfect day for ham.Because I love looking at the lights,my tabletop christmas tree is still up.At night it is a cozy feeling for me.

I will give away leftovers to family 👪

@Luvsmyfam. Actually I was thinking of doing the same since I also had no Christmas dinner. I'm going to fix my slow cooker chicken and dressing. Not silly at all.

@Kachina624 I love dressing also,just didn't know what flavor of stovetop to buy.Yes,I use Stovetop.Never had good luck making homemade MY corn casserole is my go to dish.also,I make a pretty good ham gravy

Every bit of your dinner sounds delicious, have a wonderful meal!

I was craving the flavor of stuffing a couple weeks ago and made a meatloaf with Stove Top stuffing mixed in, rarely take shortcuts and rarely eat meatloaf however it was delicious and moist!

And @Kachina624 your chicken and stuffing slow cook meal, is it an easy recipe? That sounds delicious too and would love to make that. I have more stuffing mix lol. Stove Top & regular.

@MalibuFox. I learned this little truck for the times I crave dressing. I line a coffee cup (not a mug) with plastic wrap and mold hamburger meat to the inside, fill with dressing and make a small patty to cover and seal the top. Make 4 of these, put in a baking pan ( I use a big loaf pan) and cover with a gravy made of a can of cream soup, a little milk and Worchestershire Sauce. Bake at 350°.

These are fun to make. Kids would love to help, not at all tedious, very fast, and so good.

Have you ever done Pepperage Farm? Extremely good. You just add sauteed onion, chopped celery, broth and butter. Delicious!

I did the same a few weeks back and sauteed fresh spinach.

The required green vegetable at my holiday dinners are usually fresh green beans. I can't stand canned or frozen so it was between spinach and roasted Brussels sprouts.

Luvsmyfamm Not silly at all! Two weeks ago we retreived the free frozen turkey we got from the grocery store at Thanksgiving and roasted it. I also made our usual Brussels sprouts with shallots and bacon, and I made gravy. Then I made soup with the cooked out bones.

How do you make your ham gravy? I've made several versions over the years, but I'm not completely happy with any of them.

Funny I'm doing "Friendsgiving" today🦃 ( I also needed room in my freezer bought a 15 lb turkey and took up a lot of room). It's a perfect rainy day to enjoy good comfort food.

I was away for Thanksgiving and I love a turkey dinner with all the fixings -- what better way to have a great day with friends.

House smells so good can't wait for dinner! For dessert made black forest chocolate cake with fresh whipped cream - no pumpkin pie today!

Enjoy your meal sounds delicious! Love you still have your little tree up for the occasion🎄

Whatever makes you happy. That dinner isn't reserved just for holidays in my life. It's a celebration meal and of course it's the Easter dinner. I do a turkey dinner with all the fixings in July and in September for my son in-laws birthday because it's his favorite meal.
