I just got gas and some shopping at Costco.

Is that a picture of your dog, because my Melanie looks like that when she is groomed..

What breed are your dogs? Melanie is poodle and maltise. How old are they?

I haven,t heard from my boys since Christmas, but a couple of neighbors check on me every morning.. They have me text them by a certain time and if I don,t they check on me. They have the keys to my home. I trust them.

I lost two friends last year and a third to Alzheimer's and another moved out of cal. To Oregon. So it gets lonesome, but I keep busy, just miss them.

It,s been raining here and another storm coming in tomorrow. I will have a lot of yard cleanup when it is over. Keeps me busy. That and my exercise two hours a day. Plus walking Melanie. My day is always full, but my friends and I used to take little day trips and go to lunch. Of course with covid, you have to be careful. I still wear a mask out in stores, because the one time I didn't, I got covid and I even have the latest vacccine. It was like a head cold.

I have a French Bulldog - she's 8 years old. Here's a pic of her - isn't she cute?

She is spoiled ROTTEN - of course!

My husband - aka "Mr. Boop" has a pug. She's 8 years old, also.

My Frenchie's name is Liza - I didn't get her as a puppy; I got her when she was 2 years old, from a breeder who didn't want her anymore. She told me that Liza was unable to get pregnant.

I have had her spayed.

Her poor little back legs don't work anymore because her vertebra are malformed....so she can't really do anything for herself, she can't walk...

I'm glad you have great neighbors, that's such a blessing in this day and time!

I don't have any close neighbors as we live in a rural area.

Do you do any needlework or crafts? I like to crochet but I don't have my supplies here - we haven't been here that long; we moved from a different state and we haven't completed the moving process yet.

No telling how long that will take but I just try to be patient.

Don't forget about the other board a lot of us use; I don't know if I can put the link here but if you google Q Forum Friends it should take you there. You can private message people over there, which might come in handy later if we wanted to talk about something personal.

Thank you. I will work on that later. I am computer savey. I fool around until I figure things out, but your directions will help make it faster.

Liza is cute and a face a Mother would love, so cute.

I got Melanie from the human society in town. They thought she was five, but a vet thought two. So she is anywhere from 16 to 17 years.

My half sister who lives in Wash. had the same problem with her dog's back legs. The vet suggested they put him down, but she didn't. They went holistic meds, and got a carriage to take him around. Then they took him camping in a van, everywhere they went and he loved it. He lasted for two years after the vet said put him down. They searched online for holistic meds. He was like a baby and they had to diaper him and help him to relieve himself. It was a lot of work, but that's love. After two years, they could see it was time, but that dog took more trips than I have in my lifetime.

When Melanie has an upset stomach, not ofter, I give her a syringe of pepperment tea. If she is constipated, she gets Syringe of Smooth move. Also occasionally, Dandaline leaves and root tea. I search online to see if the animal can take these teas. After the last bout with the vet putting her on steriods, I am going more and more holistic. She went crazy on the steriods. I cured her ear infection doing some research with ear washes. So far, so good.

I use to knit a lot. My grandmother, who came from Italy and raised me taught me how to knit. She did some beautiful work, I still have with me.

All my grandkids got outfits, blankets, hoods, etc that I knitted. I knitted the same for great grandkids. I don't see or hear from any of them, but it is their loss, because I gave them anything they wanted and took them anyplace they wanted to go. I don't regret it, I enjoyed it, just how to you turn from someone that gave so much love???

Today, I do more research on current affairs and learning to keep this old brain going. I,m on the computer a lot, and am certainly going to follow your directions this weekend when all my errands are done. I know needlework keeps the brain alive, its hard, but satisfying. I have some ceramics I use to do with friends. I could never get the hang of needlepoint, but have a lot of my grandmother's work.

We are suppose to have a level three storm today. To hit us this afternoon, so light rain now and getting out to finish errands. When ever I get a new tracfone from HSN, I learned how to transfer everything over from my old phone to the new.

All my pictures, etc. Looking forward to what you just told me, plus will check out the other blog that is more personal than this one.

Happy Sat. I tried putting an image on here, but my chrome has none of my images. They are all on my phone.

No one does emails anymore with me, just tex messages and we send pictures.

Then I emailed myself from my phone to the chrome and it didn't take, didn't recognize my email. Have to work on that.

I did go in the private forums, but it would not let me in.

Something about Malley.com??

I will continue working on it, because that is how I learn technology.

So for now, until someone can tell me exactly what to do to get into the private forum, we will have to communicate here.

Got so many leaves from neighbors trees, I am going out back to clean up. Next week I'll have more, but can't stand a messy yard. I'm lucky, its mostly cement and brick with flower pots, but big.

I try to find something good in everyday at my age. I am very fortunate to reach this age in pretty good health and to take care of myself. I have been blessed with good people that have come into my life. Not only here, but in everyday living.

I will be warm and cozy tonight, but won't listen to all the noise on TV.

Not the same as years pass with good music. I will be playing my DVD records of some good music on my Boise.

You might be living in an area without neighbors, but I bet it's beautiful. Enjoy.

He's worried about the snow storm they're predicting for next weekend - he bought me a kerosene heater to have here in case the power goes out. YIKES I hope it doesn't come to that!!! Are you expecting snow in your neck of the woods? I really hope we don't lose power; I don't think it will be that drastic. I made a big pot of soup today, that should do me for several days! Hi and Happy New Year. That was very thoughtful of Mr. Boop. He is thinking of you and the little family. Does he get to come back in the evening? Want kind of job does he have. If too personal, you don't have to answer.

I hope you don't have to use the keosene heater it either.

I don't get snow where I live here in town, but sometime it's exciting when we see it up in the mountains.

Further north they get lots.

I'm in the fire danger area during summer, but not directly. We always worry about that. My one son who lives 20 miles north from me, had to evacuate a couple of times. I live more in a small city.

Funny, I made a big pot of chicken soup yesterday and Melanie loves it. The problem is getting her back to eat her regular food, but I do spoil her and give her treats like when I make homemaade soup. She loves my split pea soup.

We took a walk this very cold morning before the rain came in.

Not too heavy yet.

I like the walks because I always run across other dog walkers to stop and chat.

I tried going on the other fourm, but it just doesn't work for me.

I will keep at it.

In the meantime, keep warm, and safe. Enjoy your soup. I bet its good.

It's very cold here, but sunny.

Yesterday I joined two book clubs. One at the library and a Mystery book club at the Senior center.

I need to get out among people, because I have always been very sociable, but Covid stopped everything for me and being a talker and I enjoy reading, I decided to give it a try.

I have two books to read by the 16th of Jan.

These are not books I would read, but going for the social aspect.

In the past, I have volunteered a lot, and not up to doing that at this time.

How are you doing?

Haven't had any bad weather yet and honestly, I don't think we'll have any. I think they exaggerrated the severity of coming weather, just a bit, and I'm certainly glad for that! In any case, we are prepared now.

I spend a decent amount of time caring for my Frenchie, Liza, as I said, her back legs are paralyzed and she really can't do anything for herself. I think she has a bladder infection again - the vet said paralyzed dogs are prone to that. I will follow up with her vet tomorrow or Monday....hope you have a great weekend! xo

So sorry. My sister had the same problem with her dog.

She used Dandelion root and leaves to help with the urine problem. She had to physically help the dog to urinate and had no more urinary tract infections.

I will be speaking with her today and will ask what she did to make the dog drink water. He was just like yours, couldn't walk and they carried him or had him in a stroller.

I am online alot looking for ways to help Melanie with her kidney problems. I give her the dandelion root and leaves tinture to help her urinate. I also make her food now. It's work, but we love them and while they are still able to have some good quality of life, we try what we can.

My vet doesn't believe in holistic, and tries to sell me the priscribed food that taste so bad, the dog won't eat it. He said after three days of starving, the dog will eat, but she is eating good. He doesn't listen to me, so i am changing vets.

He said, take away the dry food. I have told him, she doesn't eat dry food, never has, but he doesn't listen.

I will let you know more after I speak with my sister. Of course it goes without saying, you need to do what you think is best for your dog, but if I can help with any info. it won't hurt.

Hey @qvcaddition - I got rained out today! Drenching rain literally all day long. I did speak with my vet about my dog; she prescribed a muscle relaxer but recommended laser treatment - I'm probably going to buy a laser off Amazon, rather than rent one from the vet.

Hopefully, no rain in the forecast for tomorrow so no more cabin fever (I hope!) xoxo

Good Evening. We had a little rain, then sunshine. Suppose to be a repeat tomorrow. We got a walk in this afternoon.

My sister said just the antibiotics worked for the infection the dog had. Glad you have other alternatives to help the baby. I also shop on Amazon.

I've been cooking food for mine to maybe help with the kidneys. As they get older, all kinds of things happen that make you anxious and worried.

There is a blog on here about knitting and sewing, I think under friends, you might be interested.

The books I got for the book clubs next week are not interesting, in fact weird, but I'm going to mingle with people.

Going stir crazy since covid and stopped all my volunteering.

I like you like also like biographies and mysteries.

Hey @qvcaddition Hope you had a good day, mine was rather quiet, taking care of my Frenchie and whatnot, just housework and so on, but it got up to about 50 degrees today, which is very welcome. Much colder weather is forecast for the next couple weeks which I'm not looking forward to.

I tried volunteering a few times but it never worked out for me. I went to volunteer at a crisis line when I was young and the people were just nasty. I made up an excuse to leave when really, I was just completely shocked at the nastiness. Another time I wanted to volunteer at an animal shelter and it was a total clique. So strange; you'd think anywhere you were offering free work would be welcoming.

And this was years ago. I don't think I'd ever try volunteering again.

It's odd; I've never had any luck trying to help people through an organization. There's usually corruption involved.....but I'm getting off on a tangent.....LOL.

I had some homemade soup for supper....
