ALONE TODAY?

If you're not with family or friends today, you're never alone. Your Forum Friends are here and waiting to say HI and Merry Christmas to you.

Have a wonderful day no matter what you plan to do. We're staying in pajamas and binge watching a Netflix movie, picking up a pizza at Wegman's at 6PM when they open again. If the rains hold off, I may take Molly for a walk this afternoon.....and a nap! Then before dinner, a bath with bubbles.

I'll check back to stay in touch.

Thank you. Just what I needed to hear. It's just my husband and I and my suster for the Holiday. Both of my parents just passed away recently and we have no children and my sister never married or had children so all that's left is just the 3 of us. I always get jealous when I see families getting together wishing I had someone to celebrate with.

This is my absolute worse Christmas. Dad died 4 days ago. I lost 3 other loved ones this year. I'm in isolation with covid. 2 of my siblings are isolating with covid. I miss my family.

I knew a woman in who had a necklace made she wore all the time with a Cross and Star of David intertwined. It symbolized her daughter and son in law.

We have rain also the first time at 50 degrees ever in History on Christmas.That doesn't stop my rescue from wanting to romp in the muddy dog park.

You have a nice day planned. I am cooking myself a Cornish Hen for myself. I had Oyster Stew last night which was my parent's tradition. I was an only child.

Thank You for your kind greeting and beauty tips. I have silver hair and blue grey eyes like you so I always note your makeup likes. My skin is medium and hair with a slight wave so a bit different in that respect.

Merry Christmas! Husband and I are staying in today, Christmas Eve we hosted family so no problem doing nothing today.

I need to give my broken shoulder a bit of a rest today, although I will say I am grateful I don't have as much pain as I did a few days ago....just very stiff.

I have a friend traveling to Florida today she is so happy the weather is good and traffic is light.

I have the most incredible dog. He is a rescue and we will celebrate 10 years together in January. He will be 12 in 2 days. He can tell when I'm upset and will put his head on my lap or shoulder. If I cry, he's right there patting me with a paw or snuggling or watching me to be sure I'm ok. He is my shadow and makes me happy and laugh. I'd be lost without him.

@Squirt60 Look on the brighter side. Three of you is always better than one, right? When my kids decide to go on vacation for a holiday, that leaves just the two of us and it does seem like in movies, TV commercials, etc. everyone else in the world has a huge family around the table.

One year, both kids went to their in-laws for Thanksgiving which meant we had the meal ourselves. Yay! No big dinner to cook. We had a large chicken and stove top dressing w/ gravy from a jar and frozen green beans. It was restful and peaceful. Love the kids and granddaughters, don't get me wrong, but it was so quiet without the extra dogs they bring and all the beds to change, etc. The sink stayed full of pots, dishes and glasses, too. I'm a neat freak!!

Be grateful and feel blessed for your husband and sister.

Ours will soon be 15. How quickly our time with them passes. But our lives are made so much better when they're with us.

I have some notes to update for work today, so I thought I’d check in here too. I know this is a very difficult time for so many people.

The grass always looks greener on the other side. Some of those big happy families aren’t so happy. Remember people show us what they want us to see.

As for loss, there are no words. It is the part of life that just stinks. Only time will help blur and heal the wound.

Whatever you do today, and whoever you celebrate with, even if it’s just you. Just know there are other people out here thinking about you. You are not alone.

So nice to hear from you @Gorgf . Thanks for thinking about me. I wear my 'Star" inside my top until this craziness stops, but it I've had to deal with it all my life just not this overt.

I've been an only child for quite awhile. My younger brother died suddenly at 49!! I was the sole caretaker for both parents until they passed away. We do have lots in common...beauty tips, too.

@CalminHeart I'm so sorry for the loss of your Dad. and others. I know that feeling since I was always a "Daddy's Girl". I miss my dad every day, but keep his memeory alive by loooking at his photos I framed and placed around the house (you're probably not at that place yet). I have his watch which I purchased a smaller band and enjoy wearing when lonely for him. I have his green eyes and curly hair, too.
