JUST FOUND OUT

My mother informed me,my ex is playing Santa at our family holiday tomorrow.Not sure how I feel about this.He has had meals at my house before when it is a holiday,and it always went well.I sometimes get the impression he wishes things hadn't turned out the way they did.

I agree with you completely! Sounds like he wants to work things out or he'd never show up for things like that.

My ex showed up randomly unexpectedly the thanksgiving just before Covid...with a three year old baby he had with another woman. Keep in mind, I couldn't have children,we're now both in our 50s, he and I parted ways years ago, and the "lady" he had her with is 28 years old & a real piece of work who lost custody of her other 2 children as well as this one! It was ODD to say the least! I hope yours turns out better!

Nothing like mine. We did not part on good terms but the way he showed up you'd certainly think we did...as if nothing ever happened & look what I brought for US!!!

My mother would never allow such an uncomfortable situation - my feelings would come first.

All I can say is if "Santa" shows up, I wouldn't.

Yes,I will enjoy myself reguardless.When we parted,it was horrific.As the years went by,it got better.(We have been divorced 12 yrs,13 in June)And of course the SKANK who he left me for,is long gone.Tickles me pink!

A lot of times, couples who divorce become better as friends as time goes on...they couldn't get it together living in one house, but now they can ...pressure is off.

And when you get OLD, you can't have too many friends.

I'd rather it be friendly than not.

My best friend today is the man I lived with for 9 years in the 1980s. We both went separate ways, married, divorced, had other relationships, and now are best friends forever. We live 400 miles apart. In the 80s we had a house, two great jobs, new everything....but it didnt' work out for us....we were too young and idealistic.

Now, we attend family dinners, everyone gets along. And oddly enough, in his and my family are couples who've also been married and are still together since th 1980s....and we all get along.

Neither of us date or have sig. others right now....separate lives, but help each other if we need it.

I like it!!! And he and I always seem to be welcomed by the former families...

Can't have enough friends when you get older.

lol, this was at my parents house too...where he knew I'd be. Fortunately we'd already ate dinner, so he just made a small plate. The weirdest part was entertaining this toddler & trying to stay out of pics he wanted taken with me. My parents aren't fans of him either. But, they didn't say much of anything. He tried to reminisce about the past and asked if he could call me sometime and get together! I never answered a single call. After all he put me through, that ship has SAILED!!!

We were together for a lot of years, from college until 2013.

There was a time he was a good man. I felt safe with him & trusted him with anything. When that changed, it changed me. I can't tell if he's telling the truth or not anymore. I'd give anything to have him back the way he used to be...but I don't think that'll ever happen. He even told me he couldn't "JUST BE FRIENDS" with me, he'd always want more. But I'm too scared to ever take that chance with him again.

@QVCkitty1 If you read this current and past posts she seems to get along fine with him and has no problem with his being there.

I personally couldn't do it but it's not my choice to make.
