Addressing a Card

How do I address a Christmas card to a good friend thats married?

I have met her husband but not friends with him. Do I put Mr and Mrs or just her name?

Please advise!

Mr. and Mrs. Doesn't matter that you don't know him personally.

I think for a Christmas card, especially since you have met him even if only once, it is nice to address it as Mr. and Mrs. as I'm sure others will say

I have friends I've never met the husband and we talk, text send birthday cards etc. but any Christmas or large holiday card I address to both or even if just to her if single and a child or young adult if living with one and she talks about throughout the year.

said the less formal first names and last are nice too when friends and same ages especially.

Just first names followed by their last name. Jane and jack doe.

A lot of times I'll just put example: Smith Family

This way it also includes children they might have.

You can do it a couple of ways really. I would put her first and last name and then add & family. Or you can just put Mr. & Mrs. since it is a Christmas card.

I generally write: The Smith Family so everyone is covered even if they no longer live in the home or we may not have met. Especially think this is thoughtful in the case of a bereavement.

I don’t like Mr and Mrs, personally. I would prefer my name and his name.

I don't address anyone by Mr. or Mrs, it's always John and Mary Doe. If I get any cards or mail addressed to Mrs or Mr. Blah blah blah I know you have no clue about me. I've never been addressed as Mr and Mrs in 46 years and neither have any of our friends.

I can't believe you are serious. This must be a joke. Even if you don't want extend holiday greetings to the husband, it's still Mr and Mrs John Doe.

@CherryHugs, there is nothing wrong with your post and I will apologize to you for the nasty person who felt the need to criticize you. I'm sure others have wondered the same thing when addressing cards.

I just sent a card to a friend who is married and has a grown son living at home. I wrote "(her name) and Family".
