Finally realized why I had children.....so I could go to their house for holidays!! So why is it that I cooked all day!!!

No just my DH and I .Our son lives a six hourplane ride away so he will be having dinner with his gf at her aunts.I made the turkey tonight and so it will be Easter leftovers tomorrow.Happy Easter everyone and hope you all are able to enjoy a nice dinner.

We celebrated last Saturday with most of our family.

Tomorrow will be just 5 of us. But a good five!!!

My daughter and her family live a few states away. I spent today doing yard work (beautiful day) and tomorrow I am going to cook a duck for Easter.

I will be having the children and grandchildren over as usual! I used to always do a Easter brunch but now it is a Easter lunch! It was just getting too difficult to get everyone here early enough for a brunch! I will be having 12 people! Because I am now a little older I make it easier for myself by getting lots of Costco items which does make my Easter a little easier! We still do have the Easter egg hunt in the yard even though our youngest two grandchildren are now in highschool!! They all look so sad when we try and tell them they are now too old!! But this year I will put my foot down when the married ones jump up to take part!!

I'm the cook in the family, so DS, DIL, and the two young grandsons will be here along with a cousin of mine who is alone.

I will say that my beautiful DIL coms in the door asking what she can do and sometimes we cook together. I've taught her to cook since she grew up with an absent mother.

We have a Fur Grandson who is huge. I wanted to do a picnic lunch (obviously OUTDOORS) today so everyone can relax (or run around like a crazy puppy) and enjoy the weather.

Just my husband and me today. I've been very ill for the past 9 days and am still very weak and unwell today.

My husband just put a pork roast in the oven for lunch. More than likely I'll have a grilled cheese sandwich. I don't think I can handle pork roast and squash casserole.

I'd like to go see my dad in assisted living this afternoon if I'm up to it.

@dex- thanks. I didn't mean to sound like such a sorry sack. I'm just starting to get a little concerned. I just don't feel better. Each day I think THIS will be the day I'm much better and it just isn't. Happy Easter to you.

I just wanted to let you know that you are not suffering by yourself today. DH and I have infections that, so far, have caused 12 days of crummy for us both: coughing, sinus, and mine went to my lungs this time. Saw the MD APand RXd with lots of meds.

@LTT1- hoping you and your husband are back to normal soon. It takes a lot out of you to be sick that long. I've been calling last week "the lost week". This week is starting off the same. Urgent care last Monday said this was viral. My fever broke finally Friday morning after days of being high. The chills have finally stopped. But I'm very weak, have no appetite and now developed intestinal issues. Can't seem to eat anything at all.

@LTT1 My DH and I had that flu but we drank ginger tea with manuka honey lemon and cracked pepper.We got well in a few days.That manuka honey is medical grade and a potent virus killer...just be sure not to add it to water that is too warm or you can destroy the benefits.We got better faster than anyone so I think that is the secret.
