Anxious and apprehensive...asking for prayers please.

I've been up most of the night due to a prep for a colonoscopy and endoscopy that I'm going to be having this morning. They are both five year routine. While I've had them both before, I've never had them together. It sounded good at the time the doctor suggested it but now I'm feeling very anxious about being sedated for so long. She said it would be about forty five minutes. I'm going to be 70 next month. Now, that I'm older being sedated always worries me. I'm afraid I won't wake up. I believe in the power of prayer, 🙏🏼so I'm asking that everyone who reads this will please send a short prayer and positive thoughts my way. Thank you in advance for listening and for your prayers!🙏🏼🤗

I am awake much earlier than usual with some anxiety also. I'm sure your doctor knows it's safe for you to be sedated for that long or he would do each procedure separately. You will be so happy and relieved this afternoon when both have been completed. Prayers for a good outcome for both tests!

I understand your anxiety. I am like this about most things. When I get a colonoscopy, they always do an endoscopy at the same time because I had digestive issues. You will not even notice that you had both at the same time! And this way, you don't have to go two separate days - you will have it all done at one time and be done with it! It will go smoothly and you will be just fine! I am 71 and I have had this done many times! Best wishes and try your hardest to think good thoughts!

@Starpolisher ... I just said a prayer for you. 🙏 You'll be just fine. I know you will. I recently had a colonoscopy and you're not totally out. 45 minutes is not long at all to be out. They're both very safe procedures. You'll be very happy when you wake up and l think you'll even say... It's all over with? So don't be nervous okay? God is watching over you... Don't forget that. 🙏❤️

Saying a prayer for you and a good outcome. Doing both at the same time is a good suggestion by your doctor. I sure he wouldn’t do both procedures at once if it was not safe to do so.

I recently had a colonoscopy and was anxious as well, but it was over in what seemed like only a few minutes. You'll be fine. Positive thoughts and a prayer coming your way.

I understand your anxiety over the procedures. I've had both done at the same time more than once. They do it quite often, together. You're not going to be under that long and from what I understand the propofol used is a mild sedation. You won't be under too long. Before you know it, you'll be awake and it will be over with. I think the hunger and the prep is maybe the hardest part for me. Sending prayers and hugs. ❤️

@Starpolisher Wishing you the best. I've had them both together and it was not full sedation like heart surgery, for example. The docs do these procedures so often you need not be worried.

I'd rather go through the prep just once and get it over with.

Said a prayer for you, but have faith and ask Jesus for strength and peace during this worry. With strong faith and belief, I know he will never lead us into danger. Believe in that yourself as much or more than from others.
