Brich logs...

who knew they were so expensive! I wanted to put a few logs together with greenery and wow, I had no idea they were pricey!

I have looked at craft stores, ebay, they are all in the same price range.

Any other ideas were I could look?

@Desertdi Yep! That is what I am looking for! Hard to find in the stores + they are pricey.

I just googled birch logs and it looks like Walmart and Target have them. Not sure what size you are looking for.

Well, Mother Nature has provided me with some things for my decor. She's very generous.

Maybe garden centers/nurseries?

Before we moved from our home out in the woods we had a birch tree that had been having trouble over the years. DH tried to save it, tying it straight and taking care but it just didn't thrive. It was a young birch and on the small side so he literally cut it down and made me logs that I brought with me to my townhouse. They sit in a log rack near my gas fireplace. It was my favorite tree...... Who knew these logs would be so pricey?? Know anyone who lives in the woods, LOL??

I bought some birch logs a few years ago, but don't remember the store.

Didn't like paying the price, although not overly expensive, but has given me pleasure because I like so much.

I have them in my fireplace as we don't ever use it. Love my birch logs.

I did not recall ever knowingly seeing a birch tree. After a search, I saw they are native to colder areas of the north and Canada. They look similar to aspens. In landscaping, it is recommended to plant on the northern or eastern side of a structure. They need protection from the afternoon sun.

Meanwhile, back here in the scorching Southwest we will have to purchase our birch logs if we want any. No chance of finding trimmings stacked curbside for pickup.

I wonder if the craft stores don't have these you can make for decorations. May want to check that out. You Tube might even give you some ideas, on making your own. They make some pretty amazing things on that.

@qualitygal I have checked the craft stores, amazon, etc. I was surprised at how expensive they were - if they even ad them instock.

I see target has 3 for $15.00, that is not a bad price. A lot I looked at were odd sizes and diameter was pretty small. I am not an online shopper unless necessary, I like to look at what I am buying.

I have them in my fireplace (built in log box holder.) Have had them for years and years as my late husband cut them from an old birch tree. They sit in the log box holder as a decorative item and are never used as firewood. Didn't realize they're expense to purchase.
