How Is Your Monday Going?

I was eating my breakfast & something made me look up. 18 feet up in the 2nd story ceiling corner was a spider walking back & forth. When it settled down, I grabbed the Raid & ran upstairs. I was in the loft that has a half-wall & reached around to spray. My foot got caught in the lamp cord on the end table up there, & the lamp crashed to the floor. Ugh.

After 10 minutes, the spider was still moving, so I sprayed him again.

By now, my little dog is whining & hiding in the half-bath. She knows something is wrong.

I thought the spider would die & fall to the 1st floor 18' below, but no. He clung to the wall/ceiling corner. So I took the long floor Swiffer pole & taped white paper towel around it, and I went up to the loft to whack the spider down without making a mess on the wall. But, I ended up gicking the spider & sticking it on the wall/ceiling corner 18' up anyway.

I can't reach it, so there it stays - perhaps forever, or until it decomposes, or until it all dries & the spider drops down.

I moved the dog's bed bc it's right below the dead bug. Now she's freaked out that her bed was moved, so I calmed her with a snack & a hug.

Then, I noticed that there was a nailhead-size gouge on my gray end table & decided to take care of it right away. I had previously ordered furniture resin fill-sticks in a variety of colors & furniture repair markers that included gray.

The fill-stick wouldn't work on the gouge.

Then I tried the light gray furniture marker.

I had never used that marker and just shook it, opened it, & pressed it on the end table - I should've known better. IT WAS DARK BROWN, AND NOT GRAY AS THE LABEL & CAP ILLUSTRATED. The dark brown spread to about a half-dollar size, so I tried wiping it off. That only spread the brown more and ruined the table top more.

I just got done lightly sanding and then restaining the end table top.

Yup, it's Monday. = : O

My recommendation is to sit down and do not move. Tomorrow is another day. Hopefully, it will be calmer and less buggy.

I'm getting over the flu, thought it could be COVID but tested negative twice. So, I'm recovering and doing laundry and things I've neglected this past week.

Good Monday for me! Great weather - did a few errands - walked about 12 blocks round trip.

I only have one item on my calendar (tomorrow) and the rest of the week is clear until the weekend.

I plan on spending the week working on a new sweater design. I finally decided (this morning) on the schematic and stitch ... just have to figure out the colors ... which is always the most difficult decision for me. I have a couple of ideas .... decisions .... decisions.

(I had a bug episode in September. Took four exterminator visits to clear it up - tiny beetles the size of a grain of coffee - got into my kitchen cabinets.)

I've had a very nice day. Beautiful and uneventful drive to the doc to get Botox and then a brief stop at Costco. Now home and having an afternoon coffee.

I would have left the spider alone. But then I live in the country and spiders are all around me, along with lots of other bigger things.

I had a GREAT Monday. I did my 2 hour workout at the gym (I do this every day of the week) then went to my brother and sister-in-laws for lunch.

I'm a former cross-sitcher; I've had to quit because my eyes are so bad. Today I was rummaging around the house and to my stupified surprise, I found a CARTON--not a simple box but a medium-sized carton--bursting-full with what is probably an entire set of DMC thread.

I was really shocked; I didn't remember I stilll had this stuff. I can't bring myself to just get rid of it by throwing it away; it's good embriodery floss in perfect condition.

Does anyone have any ideas about who or what I should donate it to?

Oh, you poor thing! I feel bad for you! It's a comedy of errors, as they say.

I would be the same way. I get spastic when I see bugs in the house --- especially spiders! The last couple of weeks have been really bad. I guess with the season changing -- they have been trying to get in out of the weather! For some reason, they never seem to be around when DH is, and so I have to try and tackle them myself. I am so allergic to insect bites and that's another reason why I feel the necessity to try and get them before they get me! I hope things have calmed down for you!!!

I don't kill spiders because they kill destructive insects. If it creeps me out, I'll get a tissue and pick it up and put it outside (in nice weather), otherwise it just stays inside. Not a fan, at all, of 1000 leggers. Those I kill.

@Desert Lily Maybe you could blow the spider off with a hair dryer or leaf blower. Your poor dog will really run!
