Happy Friday and Shabbat Shalom to all who observe.

This is always an inclusive thread here where we can meet and share thoughts, find sympathy and check up on friends here. I hope you'll join us.

I'm still wishing for peace, pleasant and safe air (!?!?!?) from the the fires in Canada. NC is affected, but nowhere near like some Northern states I've seen on the news. Masks again?

It'll be a quiet weekend here....YAY! No June wedding/rehearsal dinner to prep and attend. Afterall everyone wants a June wedding, right?

All peaceful with my kids who are headed to the coast. I've joined them most trips, but I'm just not a huge "sun and fun" gal. I'm under the umbrella with a huge hat and long sleeves that has spf protection. Does that sound like fun in the heat of the sun? I'll sit this one out.

DS has a new job that's even closer to me by 20 minutes. He's the new head of the landscape architecture dept. of a large commercial firm. It'll be a bit longer commute for him, but he's excited!! It'll be a huge step up in his career...I guess the graduate degree really paid off.

DD and her hubby purchased a boat to be able to take advantage of the beautiful lakes around the Seattle area. They found a "slip" (?) yesterday for storage so the trailor unloading will no longer be necessary. My Grand Beagle named Sullivan has a life jacket and loves the wind blowing his ears up. I don't think he enjoys being IN the water, though. They're planning to retire to FL in 5 -7 yrs. (that's their target plan). It'll be so great having them so much closer.

So, all calm and restful here for the next few days and I'm wishing you the same...a quiet, relaxing and peaceful weekend.

@Shanus What a great post. Enjoy everything that is coming your way, and maybe some down time soon. I, personally prefer Sept/Oct weddings!!!

My sister in NY has been wearing an N95 mask for the past few days. She's sent me pics that are just unreal and horrific. People are walking in the streets coughing as they go and the Gov is going to make N95 masks available ... I think they have over a million. A little late to the party but better now than nothing.

Everyone have a Happy and Peaceful Weekend and Week ahead.

We have been in deep smoke for numerous days now and it is terrible.

Just when we think it looks like it is clearing it gets thick again.

The Weekend looks better...fingers and toes crossed! I want to see the Sun again.

@Shanus ...happy to hear the news about your family, Hope you and hubby are improving quickly.

Shabbat Shalom, Happy Friday, Happy Weekend! Looks like a beautiful few more days ahead. We do need rain though. Spend your weekend having fun, relaxing if possible and connecting with family and friends. Being grateful for all we have. Donate to worthy causes or volunteer where you can.

Love our community here. Love that all are welcome to come to support and wish each other well.

Please all those in the smokey areas take seriously the precautions.

We keep N95's at home and in the car. Here in CA we have to deal with this yearly. It has been worse of course during drought years.

I suggest buying an air filter. When one is needed they are never available.

I hope everyone has a peaceful, healthy weekend, remember to smile at a stranger and hug your loved ones!

Congrats to your son. I truly hope your daughter's plans work out!

Here, in central NY, the air was hazardous for two days. Then, it was downgraded to unhealthy. Today, it was fine. I feel for the people, with health issues, made worse by the smoke.

I wish everyone a happy weekend and Good Shabbos.

My big plans for tomorrow? Weeding! Don't be jealous! lol lol

Today is National Strawberry-Rhubarb Pie Day.

Enjoy a slice with a cup of coffee or tea for dessert.

@dmod nj You're so welcome and thanks for the memories of rhubarb pie. Growing up, I was the only one in my family who would eat rhubarb, so when it was served at a gathering, guess who received two big pieces?

@Shanus I never ate rhubarb growing up. It wasn't until I met my mil, age 20, that I tasted a strawberry rhubarb pie. Enjoy a slice or two today.

Strawberry Rhubarb Pie is one of my favorites...the rest of my family..not so much. I only get to enjoy it on a rare occasion.
