Inconsiderate neighbors

It's a bit before 7 am on a Sunday..my inconsiderate neighbor gets out his very loud leaf blower and starts blowing his driveway and walkway off. He is retired, has all day everyday to do yard work, but no he decides it is ok on a Sunday morning!

He couldn't do this during the week after 8:00a, most people tend to sleep in on the weekends, that is very inconsiderate and thoughtless.

I have a couple of neighbors that have been getting very lax in keeping control of their large, not necessarily friendly dogs. These are long time neighbors that have always been great!

I have asked them nicely, MANY times, to please make sure their dogs are leashed and under their control as I do not want them in my yard barking viciously, and scaring me. I am going to report them the next time it happens as it seems they are not going to comply with the leash law.

Thankfully, my neighbors are quiet during early morning and late evening times.

I also have a neighbor with an aggressive dog and as often as I tell her to keep him back she says "oh he just needs to get to know you" yeah right, after he takes a bite out of my ankle.

I once had a hooker for a neighbor. After an awful brawl one night, the cops escorted her and her companion OUT....for "operating a business in a residential building".

Ya can't pick your neighbors.....

In Arizona we can start at 7 am. I don't have a problem in the summer. I understand someone wanting to get the yard work done while it's still below 100 degrees (barely in June and July). Sometimes our lows are 95 degrees and it will be 100 by 8 am. In winter, you should wait. Nobody around my area has grass to be mowed anyway (most people don't have grass, we have rock yards). It's usually a blower or tree trimmer.

@Mom2Dogs : Why not go over and talk to him . You say he's a nice guy . Be honest with him and suggest he wait a little longer on weekends to start his yard work . He may surprise you .

What I disliike is people mowing, using loud clippers, weed whackers, etc. on a holiday when people are trying to have quiet cookouts or enjoying quiet times on their porches or patios. I get it at times that people don't have any other time to do this, but it happens constantly where I live.

Lawn work can begin in my area at 7:30... I don't mind the sound it doesn't bother me..as for the dogs people in my neighborhood have always been good about following the rules..I've been here twenty years ..

I can sympathize with everyone concerning yard work before 8 AM, yard work on Sundays and on holiday weekends, and barking dogs! We have a lot of barking dogs in my neighborhood. I don't know how those with the barking dogs can sit inside their house and not do something like bring them inside! We have county codes prohibiting yard work before 8 AM, so we don't have that to worry about usually. But from time to time you'll hear lawn mowers and leaf blowers early on Sunday mornings and on holidays when people are entertaining in their yards. Grrrrrrr. Laws and county codes are written because people don't have common sense. And those leaf blowers are loud!

I think we all have different lifestyles and when we live in communities, we can't please everyone.

I live with HOA rules. Here, the quiet time is 11:00 PM to 7:00 AM. Even though it would be okay to start something noisy as early as 7 in the morning, I do not do it. A lot of people get up early for work on weekdays and the weekend is their chance to indulge and stay in bed a little later. I think it is very inconsiderate, especially on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

This is slightly off topic but I used to think that way about retired people doing their full blown grocery shopping on weekends

i used to work long hours during the week and shopped on weekends. The isles would be jammed.

Unless i'm running in for 1 item, I steer clear of stores on weekends

People, largely, have become very single minded and are either oblivious to others or are often grossly inconsiderate. Frankly, part of the problem is too many people living in too close proximity.

Check with your city/county about noise hours and if the neighbor isn't within those, maybe he's not aware of what they are so tell him. If it continues, call and report him as others may also be frustrated as well.

@4kitties @I also have neighbors that would let their large Rottweiler run loose. Speaking to them did not work. I called animal control several times until they came out and left notices and fined them. Made no difference. Fortunately they were renters and I wrote to the landlord and he was very responsive and made them get rid of the dog (went to one of their relatives) now they have 5 frenchies that r out on their deck barking all the time. Just can't win. At least I have a great neighbor on the other side.

In my city in Arizona, they can start at 6am from April thru September. The rest of the year it's 7am.

There will always be people who are inconvenienced by yard work. Some people work at night and sleep during the day. Any work that is done during the day will be a problem for day sleepers.
