That's very interesting, @Group 5 minus 1

I watched a video, at least most of it. Anyway, I found out very little about the ingredients, why it's zero net carbs, where it's made, etc. The presenters just talked about their daughters and all the foods that can be made with this sugar. I'm interested but skeptical. Will do some research about allulose. I'll be interested to hear if anyone else here has some information.

I use very little sugar anyway but it might be handy to have the packets, which would probably last me 10 years.

I have used Allucose sweetener in crystal form. It is available at Walmart and grocery stores as well as Amazon.

It tastes good and has no after taste. It doesn't cause me digestive issues like Soribitol.

I have never tried the liquid version or the RX brand shown. The brand I bought was made by the Splenda company ..though it is not actually Splenda as we know it.

I think it is worth trying if you need a sugar substitute.

I would be interested if I could use it in baking. I had issues with other sugar substitutes when I baked. The only thing I baked was a coffee cake, it sank in the center and did not seem to rise like it usually did when I used 'regular' sugar.

I checked the website and it said you can bake with it @Mom2Dogs

There was a warning that if you consume too much it can cause stomach issues.

@Mom2Dogs The pondered version looks like real sugar and acts like real sugar. You can bake with it. It also will caramelize like real sugar.

Measure for measure, it is not quite as sweet as real sugar. My husband uses it for coffee, but always uses more than he would with real sugar.

I picked some up at Costco the other day for DH since they were out of the bulk Splenda he was wanting. It's Allulose. He wanted it to sweeten batches of tea, so didn't really want the packts of Splenda. I asked how he liked it and the jury is still out. He said it might just be that he hasn't figured out the right amount to use.

The directions said to use 1 1/4 cups vs 1 cup of sugar, so it's not super sweet like stevia or a lot of the artifical sweeteners are. I haven't tried it yet. I usually use stevia in my hot tea.

I'm diabetic so I usually have to try it and then check my glucose in an hour or two so that I know if I am going to have an issue with it. Sugar-free doesn't always work for me.

@We rescue cats I don't have any sugar issues, but I'm sensitive to the taste of sugar alcohols which are often used in place of sugar. Atkins seems to use them a lot in their bars.

Interested in this product. I would be interested in the granulated only. Don't use much sugar but would really like to remove all that I can. While watching the rerun this morning, host asked the vendor to explain it to us and when he was right in the middle of his explanation she interrupted and started eating a strawberry with cream cheese and the sugar, completely ruining his explanation! I'll be checking online about this product.

I purchased. Really only wanted the granulated but it came in a set w/ the syrups.

Just used it yesty to make homemade Strawberry Cheesecake Ice Cream.

Used it in both the strawberries and ice cream base.

You would NOT know! I am so happy w/ this product as other 'subs' have such an odd taste to me.

I will be purchasing again.
