Why do we park on a driveway and drive on the parkway?

The Arkansas and Kansas thing really bugged me to the point I googled it. It has to do with the different Native American dialects from those areas.

@OKPrincess Wow - I always thought zoe was pronouced just like joe! otherwise, why bother to have a zoey option? lol. Am I the only one who didn't know zoe was said with 2 syllables?

Think that's crazy! Have you seen some of the new, so-called replacement words, that leave out "man/men" out of it? And there are many others that probably wouldn't pass the sniff test here, so I won't mention them. Think it still ok to say pronoun here, no?

I personally am sticking with the "old crazy", and for those that aren't !!

Zoey and Zoe are pronounced the same. The "e" on the end of Zoe is pronounced as a long "e."

Joey and Joe are not pronounced the same. The "e" on the end of Joe is silent.

Laid is pronounced like paid but not like said.

There is no egg in eggplant and no apple in pineapple.
