I wonder if that shadowy figure on the left is an escort, just in case the wolf forgets its manners? They must have some extroverted wolves. Usually they're very shy.

@Kachina624 WOW I haven't heard of this but Garden of the Gods is really beautiful. We walked thru there years ago with friends that lived in Manitou Springs at the time. They now live in Cripple Creek I'll have to ask them about this...DW

There must be some wolf rescue group that sponsors this. We have one here over in the mountains for wolf hybrids, not purebred wolves.

I wonder how they keep other visitors from mobbing the wolf and wanting to pet it? They'd have to have an escort.

They would have to give the medication to me. I'd be happy to donate but not walking a wolf. I bet the wolf is none to happy to be on a leash.

There is a place in Sandpoint Idaho called Wolfe People. It's a place that has wolves and a visiting center open to the public. Some of the wolves have been used in movies and commercials. It's an interesting place to visit if your in the area

@Parischic We also have a wolf sanctuary somewhere in Southern New Mexico, Wild Spirit Sanctuary. It looks like many states have them.

When I was little knew an old man that had a pet wolf until the wolf decided they weren't friends any more and did some damage to the old guy. I would see them going on walks.

People are really naieve about animals.

If that wolf has to take a little walk on a leash to help people see the plight of his species, he doesn't mind. But I understand what you're saying and why it's sad.

One of the joys of my life was getting to know and love an 85% wolf hybrid. He was magnificent and yes, I walked him on a lead a couple of times when he got out of his enclosure and I escorted him back while my husband repaired the fencing. He would just strole beside me. He didn't look or really act like a dog and getting to hear him howl was a magical (literally religious) experience. I would walk a wolf, I sure would!

Living with Wolves is a documentary about Jaime and Jim Dutcher and how they did live with wolves in the wild. I will never forget it.

My oldest daughter's

favorite teacher in elementary school brought his" dogs" to school on the last day.

I think his students knew but i didn't learn til later that they were wolves and the real White Fang was their relative.

They were magnificent to see and just looked regal. Thinking they were some kind of large Alaskan or Siberian huskies at the time, I did think they were huge seeming to cover half the hallway at school.

I have a picture of a wolf in snow over my bed.

I can't imagine being able to be close enough to walk with them. that must be a magical spiritual experience.
