Has anyone heard from or have information about @KingstonsMom ? She's always been a regular poster but hasn't been on the boards since the first week of Oct. I know her dh has not been well so I'm concerned.

@riley1 Yes, I know. I said that in my post but that was almost 6 weeks ago. She's always pretty much posted daily.

@Kachina624 - Hope everything is ok with her/family. I know she is on a barrier island off the Georgia coast - hope she is ok. Actually, I think she might be near Savannah area.

I believe she had posted that her husband was seriously ill.

It was in a longer thread not created on that subject, but I was surprised more posters didn’t pick up on her message.

The thread was about appropriate food for very ill people.

She is such a good person and such an asset here. What her family did for Kingston was heroic.

@PamfromCT Here's the post to which you referred. It sounds as though he was very ill. She's not overly demonstrative but even then, it sounded serious.

I hope if she checks in, she'll know that we're thinking of her, miss her and wish her and her family the very best.

@Kachina624 Thank you for posting the link about her husband. I do remember her saying her husband was ill but didn't know what was wrong. I hadn't read that thread.

I'm very concerned about her and her family.

Well, Hi! there Ms. @Kachina624 Kachina!

i really appreciate the asking about me from everyone here, makes me feel good and I sure needed that!

I've been having some health issues and had to spend 8 days in the hospital (actually the reincarnation of hell), LOL!

In a nutshell, my potassium and magnesium levels just bottomed out because my Dr. prescribed potassium & magnesium in too low of a dose and we need those two for heart health.

I was taking my prescription potassium, but my Dr. didn't prescribe the proper dosage, so it eventually depleted all of both from my system.

It took 8 days in the hospital with back to back IV's to get those 2 levels back to an "acceptable level", to let me go home with new scripts.

I refused to be admitted until they told me that if I didn't, so they could pump me full of both, I could die in my sleep.

I relented and stayed for 8 days.....UGH!

But they turned me every which way but loose! I also discovered that I have 2 "nodules" in my lungs, but they're too small for medicare or my supplemental insurance to cover any treatment.

We have to show a scan that shows they are "growing" before we'll know what I'm dealing with there, and that's when Medicare and my supplemental BC BS will cover any treatment. That's a scary prospect, I must admit.

When I went on Medicare (and a supplemental ins. - BC BS for retired Fed. employees) he decided he didn't need to see me anymore, so no labs were done either and we didn't know what was happening.

He just called in refills of meds that weren't strong enough for me and one that my NEW Dr. took me off of because it's known to deplete your potassium.

If anyone else takes Hydrochlorothiazide, there are a lot of really bad side effects, if you're not having your labs checked frequently like me, because that Dr. never said I needed to make an appt.

BUT I SHOULD HAVE KNOWN!!

So now, I'm left with venous insufficiency in both legs and they swell so much, it feels like my skin on my legs and ankles will burst open if I squat down, to put some pots away and my balance is so off, that I have to use a cane.

As a result of the loss of balance, I did a face plant (literally) down 2 steps into my laundry room and landed on the side of my face on the concrete floor. HARD!!

I had 2 black eyes, busted my head open (I still feel the scar under my hair) and I'm sure that my jaw was at the very least, fractured.

I couldn't hardly open my mouth......DH LOVED that, LOL!

Can't drive my car, with brief periods of utter confusion.....I'm a mess right now!

You're right! I'm about a 20 minute drive across 2 bridges to downtown Savannah. We had a tornado warning, wind and lightning earlier today, but this new hurricane isn't supposed to affect us after tomorrow, I sure hope not!

That poor guy sees his cancer Dr.once a month and not a visit goes by that he doesn't remove some skin cancer.

He has about 6 Drs. and is having many treatments, no chemo thank goodness, they always manage to catch/remove it at the basal cell stage, because they check him over so often.

Please ladies (and gents), if you haven't been 'checked' for skin cancer lately, please do!

His father died from skin cancer (that he didn't know he had) when it went to his brain and started taking over the good cells.

He was only in his 50's. DH is 65, I'm 69. I'm sure that if he hadn't gotten his body checked that often, he probably wouldn't be here.

He also does immunotherapy by IV, it takes a couple of hours, which makes it harder for cancer cells to 'hide' from all of our 'tests' used today.

We are a never-ending rotation of Drs. right now, between the 2 of us!

My DH actually had me cut off from the Q, after I ordered 11 pair of the exact same sunglasses, LOL.....and Oops!

I guess I really liked them, they were the perfect size for thin, oval faces like mine, the size of the lenses were perfect!

I sure didn't need 11 pair though, needless to say 9 of them were returned!
