Do you ever feel…

"Weepy"? Every now and again I have a couple of days in a row when I find my eyes filling with tears out of nowhere. Tonight I was watching "The Good Doctor", I went through 20 tissues. I don't just tear up over sad things but happy things, too. I've been this way my entire life.

@HonestLife You're not alone! I do it once in a while when I hear a song or see a movie that reminds me of something that happened in my life.

Every time I see Steel Magnolias, it reminds me of my grandma. We were watching that movie the night that she passed after being in a coma and everytime I watch it, I tear up when Julia Roberts dies.

@Linmo It's such a mystery sometimes. It's never been hormonal, it's just who I am. When I get this way, I don't want to be in public because I might just tear up at the checkout line!

Yep. I woke up yesterday early am from having a dream about the ex DBF.

While I don't recall the subject of the dream I was teary all day. UGH!

Good thing I'm working at home behind my computer! 😉

@HonestLife @Snowpuppy @Frenchlop @OKPrincess Some of us, including myself, are also more sensitive in general. It doesn't necessarily have to do with hormones.

I feel like I have become more "weepy" as I age. We lost one of our dogs on March 15 last year, and both my husband and I have been talking about her daily since this loss. And now it's been a year...

Losing friends has been very difficult as well.

I find myself teary a lot, and I worry a little about depression. I am working on staying positive and grateful.

You said you have been a little "weepy" your whole life. That is ok, you are just sensitive and probably feel a lot of empathy for others.

My life-long friend's mother used to get teary when we would watch Leave It to Beaver when my friend and I

were very young. She would sit and smile at everything,

and then wipe the tears away.

She was a lovely, sweet natured person who was touched by so many human foibles.

@Susan in California Thank you. When my children were young and one had a school play, concert, etc, they would say, "Mom, try not to cry", knowing full well my purse was loaded with tissue and I would have a red nose at the end.

@Susan in California I hope you will consider getting another furry friend. We lost our 15 year old to cancer in October and a younger dog 2 years earlier. We still miss them both, but just adopted a year old rescue who is a handful and definitely keeps us busy.

Yes, thank you for your comment. We have a rescue who is 5.5 years old. We got him four years ago, an Akbash mix. We love him dearly, and we could never be without a dog. At the time, the two dogs worked out well together.

I think it is just always hard to lose a beloved pet, and as you know, each is unique and will never be forgotten.

Specific songs on the radio, riding in my car can trigger a memory so strong...it's as if I'm with my husband and we are dancing,'the night away'.

He and I were really into music; and more specifically dancing.

We'd enter a dance a dance contest and would often win.

This was back in the late 60's and early 70's.

The music was amazing back then.

I really doubt you would get upset in a public place such as a line.

When you're out, there are so many things to see, feel like temperatures, and people around, you would be drawn through all of your senses and not be likely to focus on a negative.

I think I have gotten worse about this as I've gotten older! I think things do affect me more deeply than they used to, but I've always pretty much been this way. My mother used to tell me, you don't have to feel ashamed because you have a soft heart!

It depends on the situation...but right now my niece has been diagonsed with cervical cancer and is still waiting on results of MRI waiting to have a PET scan and a few other test to determine the extent of the cancer.

She has been thru a lot of health issues in her relatively young life and I am just sick over this latest diagnosis....so yes, lately I am a bit fragile.

@Mom2DogsSo sorry, that is difficult to endure and heartbreaking

I never used to get teary when I was younger but I tend to now. I do think hormones play a role for sure as I've been way worse since I went through menopause........I did cry in a grocery store once, I was just having a really "off" day. It's somewhat normal as long as you are not crying constantly.

I think that's normal for some people, they are more sensitive. I think more in tune with their feelings.
