All I know is that whatever is an irritant will aggrivate any/all skin problems. I suggest using unscented liquid laundry detergent on pillowcases and sheets. Most of us just don't know or think about how irritating laundry detergents are, especially to sensitive skin.

I have rosacea and I discovered It CC foundation with spf 50, after trying many different things. It is the only makeup I have found that covers up my redness and is gentle for my skin. I am 66 years old, almost 67 and it doesn't settle into my line and isn't heavy on my skin. Plus, you only need a little. I also use cereVe moisturizer in the tub combined with a few drops of marula oil as my skin is also very dry. Hope this helps you out. It is hard to find makeup and skin care that doesn't aggravate the rosacea.

I use Metro Gel which really helps with the redness. It is a chore dealing with Roasacea. I thought just having sensitive skin was a pain but having Rosacea really magnifies it.

I think about the best thing I could advise is probably what everyone else would say. Avoid fragrances in anything you put on your skin. And use products with as little ingredients as possible.

I can't use any scrubs or anything with a retonoid ingredient.

Stay out of the sun and use a good sunscreen.

As far as makeup. What works for one is a disaster for another. Generally speaking, mineral makeup seems to be one which works pretty well for most who have Rosacea.

Try Clinique, Physician's Formua and Almay, as these seem to be good choices for problematic skin.

I find that extreme temps. - either hot or cold -- seem to make my condition worse. As does stress.

Rosacea doesn't get better, it gets worse.

The best thing you can do for yourself is get to a derm, get a proper diagnosis and get on a regimen to keep it at bay as long as possible.

I was told by a Clinique Rep (who did give me some advice because her mother had rosacea)...that Clinique products can be good but also Neutragena makeup and avoid anything with much oil in it.

Edward Bess (EB) has an excellent, but a bit pricey, foundation. It's sold on the Q. Great coverage. I'm also on a maintainence regime of Metronidazole .75% and Doxycycline by my dermatologist. Try to avoid flare-ups. I know that my triggers are sun, stress, red wine.and spicy hot foods. I used to treat my Roseacea just when I broke out but I find this maintainence routine MUCH better!
