@ECBG Ooops, I'm always a day late and a dollar short. Hope your b-day was a happy one. Mine was a couple days ago. They come around fast when you don't want them to!

@Kachina624 so-- where can I move where there isn't some kind of price to pay? Where are there no hurricanes, no floods, no snowstorms, no tornadoes, no months unending without lots of daily hours of sun, no long hours of daily temperatures below 65? And those are just natural events I would love to be free from!

@millieshops I'm already at the place you describe....Albuquerque. We have never had any of the things you mention plus, its so dry we don't have many if the pesky bugs like mosquitoes, fleas or cockroaches. We have four distinct seasons but they're not extreme. We usually get a little snow; its pretty but not enough to be bothersome and kind of just evaporates fast. Summers are hot usually 90-95° in afternoons but at our altitude, it cools off fast in the evenings. It's very dry and we've been in a drought for several years; that's the worst natural phenomena we've experienced. Not a good place to garden but people grow beautiful roses in the sandy soil. We have over 300 sunny days a year. There are more things to see and do than any other place I've ever lived, all within a day's drive. Its endless. There are many retired people here. It's a rare day when you can't be outside doing something. Its 54° here today but will be near freezing overnight. Very reasonable cost of living.

@Kachina624 Loved my visit to your city. Hadn't thought about living there, but then I didn't have relatives already living in the Southwest. Will do some research -- and some family talk!
