''Gifts Guaranteed Before 12/25''? What does that mean?

I'm puzzled as to what kind of '''guarantee'' QVC is offering you in that frequently used statement of ''Gifts Guaranteed Before 12/25!''...So if by (likely) chance that one doesn't received their purchase by 12/25, does the 'guarantee' mean they give the $ back to you and you can keep the purchase when it arrives?

@sarahpanda I presume it means what it says. If it doesn't arrive by Xmas then I suppose you contact the Q customer service and let them know. Maybe they would give some type of discount. I really don't have a definitive answer to your question. Btw. Q is not the only one guaranteeing arrival by Christmas.

Interesting times ....I paid $53 dollars for an overnight letter "guaranteed...but not really due to the times"....it took two days to arrive.

Ordered a jewelry item day after Thanksgiving, was shipped UPS then handed off to USPS for delivery. Tracking shows it has been sitting at the mail distribution center in Orlando for two weeks. Same issues as last year when some of my gifts arrived in Feb. USPS simply cannot carry the ball any longer, so why does Q continue using them? A great way to lose customers.

CJC- the mail where I live in Charlottesville VA, is so bad our senator, Mark Warner, has gotten involved. I had two pre paid, lreturn labled packages simply vanish once they left my mailbox.Huge piles of undelivered mail were found thrown behind the main post office. USPS really done.

I live in the country & USPS are out delivering packages at 6:30 am...great hard working people, great service.

Once an item leaves QVC, or any shipper for that matter, they have no control over when it is actually delivered. The last 2 years have been overwhelming, not only for the Post Office, but for all shippers. Anyone who has waited this long to order Christmas gifts may not have their items arrive in time for Christmas, no matter who they order from. QVC and other retailers have been having holiday shows for months; people have had plenty of time to order and receive their purchases in time yet there are always those who wait until the very last second and then whine about how QVC ruined their Christmas. At this point, with only 2 weeks to go, if someone hasn't finished their shopping, it's best to go to a brick-and-mortar store. That way they'll guarantee that they'll have their gifts in time.

@kitcat51. I agree most are diligent hard working people. In any field there are always those who don't care. I have had some that are very slow and mix up mail or lose it.

Our rural carriers use their own vechicle. My carrier had no heat so had to go home and switch vehicles this week. He said someone else would be delivering mail and did not know what time she would come. He was doing packages.

I saw him yesterday and gave him a bag of dog biscuits ,as gives them out to dogs. I asked if he was working Saturday and he said yes and Sunday also.

Their guarantee is worthless. My order arrived the day after Christmas so I learned my lesson. And this was back in the '90's .

In my case I've been working part time for UPS! (just kidding) though they have left several packages on my front porch that belong to other units lately. So me and DH don our hats and gloves and go around delivering the packages to the correct units! LOL Good thing we are honest people. Have had a few of these instances with Amzaon too. The unit #'s are very visible outside so don't ask me why this occurs?? I do know that this time of year is even worse due to heavy mail load and part time workers that just don't give a cr*p. Luckily we still have a decent USPS carrier.

As far as the Q giving you anything for your late package arrivals, don't hold your breath.

@ValuSkr @kitcat51 I clicked on the black banner and then the second place it said to click. It gives no information on what the guarantee means if your items don't arrive on time.

It's on the top of every page including the Forum...I'm using a tablet with Crome so it might be different with another device & server.

I clicked the black banner. Looks like they've shortened the amount of time you have before Christmas to order in time for Christmas delivery. The date to order by is 12/14.

In the past, the "order by" date for guaranteed Christmas delivery was like a few days before Christmas, and it was never a problem for me. I wouldn't take that chance now though.

I've learned after shopping here for 30 years, that QVC guarantees you will get a big, fat 'Sorry you order wasn't received by 12/25', followed by instructions that you can return the order for credit.

No, you don't get to keep the item for free, you don't even get a small credit for the 'inconvenience'.

I've learned the hard way not to order gifts in the month of December.

The guarantee means nothing! QVC makes this guarantee EVERY YEAR, and they certainly cannot control what happens after the items leave the warehouse. Unfortunately, EVERY YEAR people believe what QVC says, and are disappointed.

Unless I didn't care exactly when anything from any company actually arrived, I would be shopping locally and carrying my purchases home.

QVC is not alone in having packages lost in the massive number of products the nation is buying every day. The delivery services are overwhelmed - yesterday I saw a USPS delivering to a neighbor's terrace before 7 AM!
