Did you get any medical feedback? For me, I would take a close look at my diet and be proactive. Certain meds, alcohol, obesity can also be a factor. You might want to check the symptoms for liver disease and call for an appointment for a follow-up consultation with your doctor to discuss these issues. Set an appointment for another test in the future after implementing any lifestyle changes. Wishing you the best of health!

Found out back in the 1970's a cause that was unknown by most doctors.

Was in the hospital for abdominal tests and 1 doctor asked me if I was an alcoholic. At that time I drank a beer on occasion, but did not consider myself an alcoholic. He insisted, I kept saying no.

While in the hospital my wife brought me 2 books written by Dr. Kenneth Cooper, both were about blood reading in relation to exercising, especially Cholesterol/Total number/HDL/LDL/ HDL-LDL Ratio. These readings were not even talked about back in those years.

Unless one followed Sports Medicine, few had ever heard of HDL/LDL or the ratio between them.

Anyways, in 1 of his books he talked about rigorous exercising and blood readings. He even noted that if you had done some vigorous exercising within 48 hours of having blood tests, many times your Blood Liver Readings would show they were elevated.

I ended up in the hospital for over 3 weeks, and after 4 days my Liver Readings were back within the range of my many other previous blood draws.

This is what I know to be my own personal reading for my "unusual" blood Liver Readings. Let your doctors tell you what might be the source of your blood reading.

I am just the opposite of you. I do not worry about anything concerning tests. I wait till the source is located/listen to my options/make a decision, and go from there.

Most are like yourself so it is not unusual to worry for sure. I have said it so many times on these forums, many are probably sick of my typing it. So I will pass on my usual comment about worry.

This post is for informational reasons only, not advice, and certainly not meant as a diagnosis your blood test results.

hckynut🏒

I cannot relate but can tell you that our Liver is key because it detoxifies everything. There could be many reasons why the numbers are up. Certain bad cholesterol levels or diet. You would need to talk to your doc to determine the underlying reason. My dh is a liver specialist.

mollymaggie,

Wow! Reading your note is like me talking! I've had up and down liver enzyme readings since March this year and never had anything like this before then. I had my blood tested just to get my regular refills on blood pressure and thyroid medicine (been on that last one for decades since my thyroid was removed). Suddenly my numbers were way up. I've had a CT Scan and an MRI which showed a hemangioma that is often in people but we don't know it nor does it cause problems typically. Then in August I had to go to a gastro intestinal doctor (primary care doctor wanted me to). There I learned I had Covid back in January but didn't know it (husband had it then but my symptoms weren't the usual ones). That GI doctor believes this is a side effect from Covid. My primary care doctor doesn't. Go figure! My numbers go up and down constantly! Yet I feel fine and go, go, go all the time which isn't bad for someone 72 years old! It's so frustrating! (P.S. I don't drink at all either and eat healthy.). Susan
