Thanks, reminds me of a trip to Montana where the best coffee shop was located near the ski lift . It was a long walking distance but sure worth the trip for fresh roasted coffee.

I'd be right behind for an iced nonfat carmel macchiato but not for a cup of hot joe..that's instant with Bliss or International Delight sweet cream.

It kills me how some people are addicted to coffee - like the ones who push a cart around the supermarket coffee-cup in hand. They can't go without for the short time they're in the store?

This was me in the Blizzard of '78! pretty much same distance.

snow was up to my boobage. only i had on a yellow terry zip front robe, rain boots and a blue down vest. i was trying to get next door to my neighbors because the heat went out.

@LindaSal yes, i was in MA then but RI was clobbered as well! there is a clip on youtube, Channel 10 was the only station broadcasting live? being stranded there at the station the anchors and reporters asked for food and people brought them bags of food in the storm.

There are worse things to be addicted to.

Cigarettes, heroin, cocaine, meth, alcohol, etc.

In that context, coffee ain't so bad.

I remember the blizzard of ‘78 very well. My husband and I were snowed in at our university graduate school housing for three days. Nine months later in October our son was born and the labor and delivery wing of the hospital was bustling! They even gave us little T-shirt’s for our newborns that said, “I was a blizzard baby!”

I went through the "78 Blizzard, too. No one knew what was coming. I was chairing a workshop for 10 or so people. We all left as others in the building said it was snowing. No panic just the workshop was over so we all left. HA! Took me an hour and a half trip that was usually 20 minutes to get home. Snowbound for a week and a half.

Others in the workshop always joked that the participant from the farthest town away was never heard from again. Turned out she had no phone service for the week! No cell phones then.

OMG, definitely YES. I've kept an old metal coffee pot that I can convert to a drip pot to make my coffee on the gas grill if we lose power. No one wants to be around me before my caffeine......

@ValuSkr Besides a supermarket chain in my area having a Starbuck's inside, so does Target. It can definitely draw you in, but for me, I cut it off after 3PM or I don't sleep at night.
