this years products

Im done with a few products Ive been shopping with the Q for 33 years but this year disappointed me many times Philosophy doesnt smell strong enough to spend the money Both berkshire and n polar fleece sheets were so thin and cheap. I am done with diaiamonique My month old cross has lost all of its gold The rings all look like glass. I am moving from cuddle duds to mukluks for winter pjs I never even thought of quality in the past I just knew certain brands were quality

Am I the only one that has noticed quality in the products changing for the worse?

I haven't bought anything from them in almost a year. I think the products, prices and shipping are better at HSN and well, almost anywhere.

I find myself mainly buying food items these days. I did order some clothes few months back. I'm happy with them, but honestly I very seldom go anywhere except to pick up groceries, do go in for birdseed. No point in getting dressed up for that. For some reason I'm always reaching for my old clothes.

Not wearing jewelry, very seldom wear makeup so don't need/want as much as I use to.

I did start to purchase the philosophy micro delivery wash yesterday, but cancelled. I'm pretty sure I had it before and it seemed to break me out.

Louis Dell'Olio gave us a clue a few days ago on his blog; although many here noticed, quality at QVC has been going down. "QVC is still cutting budgets. I guess lower quality is the future."

Despite lower quality, QVC is still increasing prices. So, buyers are getting lower quality than before, but paying more for it.

Many brands on QVC make their products specifically for QVC and must stay within QVC's decreasing budgets, I think the reason for some of the lower quality; however, the manufacturing source has been a cause for a long time.

Agree with the Polar Fleece sheets☹️☹️I bought extra set last year. Finally, washed and put on bed this week -- a baby swaddling blanket is thicker!

Certainly not the quality of sheets bought years ago when they were introduced.

Just like so many products (not just Q) everywhere.

I purchased most!y food this last year. The clothes I purchased are nice but do not need a ton of clothes. I plan on retiring soon and I do not dress up that much anymore. Times have changed as far as clothes for the work place over the years.

To me the TSV are not the quality they should be. They cheapen them in order to get that price down.

I plan this year to spend less on stuff and finishi fixing up the things I need done. Started last summer and continue to do more before I retire. New garage door next week finally coming after big storm hit during summer. More repairs on the way.

I spent a lot of time purging and organizing these last couple months and QVC stuff I do not need. Big eye opener for me.

When you retire, you will be amazed at all the clothing, etc. that you will never, ever lay a finger on again! I worked all my life and had a huge collection of clothing, shoes, bags, coats, jewelry --- you name it! Within a few months, I looked at all that stuff and thought --- OMG ---- how ridiculous! I am the same -- purchased mainly food this year as well! Spending all my time at home so I have no need for so much stuff! Don't get me wrong --- I love pretty clothing, etc., but I just have no need for all the things I thought I needed in the past!

Also, I now realize that I don't put importance on whether something is a brand name or not. That's why I prefer to shop in person and I miss it. I love seeing items for real, inspecting the quality of the fabrics, and design. I don't need something to be expensive to be useful and durable!

I hear what you're saying! I don't depend on so-called brand names any more. I found a line of silver/faux diamond jewelry on line several months ago and the quality and prices are amazing. I have purchased so many items from this place. I am not knocking diamonique from here because I have not purchased any for a long time and I do not know first-hand the quality. I always used to spend a lot on my slippers but now I find slippers in Big Lots for $10 that are just as good --- and a pair will last me for years! Same thing with handbags. I used to spend a fortune on them. These bags will live on way after I'm gone I'm sure, but for me, it's really not necessary. I can find plenty of others which are well constructed and attractive and cost a lot less. Then, if I get tired of them, and pass them on or toss them, no big deal! I'm sure there are probably a lot of higher end products and companies that still hold up, but I'm more frugal these days. I prefer to go the less expensive route and still get qood quality.

If you have a membership try Costco's fleece sheets. I haven't bought any this year but my two sets from previous years are better than QVC's.

Totally agree about both quality and price of many things ( and especially on Q). An example: yesterday I saw that both Ripka and Pollack were offering sets of necklace extenders ( two silver chains, a couple inches long with a small clasp) for a ridiculous price (plus s&h). If I needed those, I'd check on Amazon, etc and have them in my home for under $10, all in.

@Roscoe the Rascal I did the same thing when I was nearing time to retire. It's such a good feeling to scale down and get everything streamlined. I'm still doing it!

It seems the loss of quality through recent years has been a frequent discussion for about the last 10 years and gradually increased.

Yes I totally agree with you. I too have been a member of QVC and HSN for many years and I have seen the quality of items decrease and the prices going up. This year I am committed to not buying anything made in China and since in the description of an item on their site it only states Imported I cannot buy anything I don't know where it was made. So many other retailers to choose from.
