Went to dentist yesterday - balance not paid by insurance $108.

Went to post office. Sent package for $38 plus bought 1 roll of stamps. $93.

Needed licence plate stickers for cars - $450.

Received bill for next years service to weed/feed lawn. $500.

Went grocery shopping - $140.

Received drs. bill for balance not paid for husbands removal of cancer growth on arm - $700.

Electric bill received today - $95.

Oh my - no wonder I'm feeling a little blah today!

I'm in the same poor house with you, sister. LOL

No dental insurance = paid $400 this week plus 2 prior visits $$

Spring Lawn treatment - changing companies but will be $350 my guess

Fall clean-up paid $250

Utility month bill - $194

Next month - car & house insurance - $300

And...........on it goes

Bills for rental property - gulp = Enough

Sometimes feel like a money clearing house

@BunSnoop If it makes you feel anybetter... I have a dental appointment in a week that Out of pocket I will owe $1328.00. The dental insurance only covered $678.00.

@BunSnoop and @fthunt You could save money if you skipped the lawn treatments, especially if you have pets. They are also carcinogenic to you, too. Just a thought.....

Somehow being home, and not spending, highlights our habits.

I always have a budget but cutting out all travel and entertainment really shows the fixed costs. Sigh. Even the gas station wonders where I am 😂

Obviously, a number of those expenses were absolutely required. But maybe a few were avoidable? I mail so few things that I have Forever stamps I purchased 5 or 6 years ago.

oh and ALSO next week ...... I have a guy coming to clean the gutters and blow off the roof ($189) and also same week a guy coming to do the fall maintence on the furnace and heat pump ($279.00).

I had a similar situation last month:

New Hearing Aids .... $6000

ENT / Audiologist co-pay .... $12.76 (I have good medical coverage)

Dentist ... cleaning and cap $1235.

I would cancel the weed and feed. Be honest, does it look any better than any other lawn in the neighborhood? We have a neighbor that has it done and by mid summer it's not any greener or lush looking than the houses on either side.

Anyone who owns a house can have lots of bills, never ending bills.

Also a car, lots of upkeep.

And then I think, its lucky to have a house and a car, but you need a lot of money to keep them.

Sometimes the more you have, the more complicated life can get, and the more money you need, or want.

because you see possibilities that might not have been there without money in the first place.

And I'm saying "you" as a general person you.

What strikes me about those expenses is the $700 balance leftover from a skin cancer excision. I would question that.

Well, yeah, bills suck!

I do freak out, too! But then I tell myself, be grateful that though it's not always easy, I can pay those bills!

Think of the people who have to live on the streets, or in their cars. Be glad for what you have and what you are capable of doing. It changes my perspective at times.

P.S. Sometimes you must have the lawn fertilized. Depending of the age of the lawn or condition, it becomes necessary to fertilize it in order to save it.

@eddyandme Condition of Lawn - you are correct. We (neighborhood) have bad soil - it's clay clay clay with inches of top soil. Weeds are happy with it - but grass not so much.

I reseeded the entire lawn this summer - by myself - with Scott's Kentucky Blue Grass to give the lawn a boost.
