Long, long days!!

Every year at this time I start to feel the same way about too much daylight! I like the longer summer days but at this point it is just too much for me. It makes me feel so restless. In 3 more days they will start to get shorter again. My favorite time for darker is about 7:00 p.m. I then start to relax more! Any opinions?

My Daddy was a fireman and loved the long summer days. In the winter he'd go to work in the dark and come home in the dark.

I like that it's light until 8:30 pm or so but hate that at 5:15 am it's like the middle of the day. As you say, next week the days will start to get shorter.

I swear, for the last couple of weeks or so, I have been saying EXACTLY what you said. I find myself feeling annoyed that it's still light after 7 and then 8 and past 8:30. Too much. I really just thought it was me.

Love the shorter days. Summer here in Arizona just drags on for months. The shorter days mean cooler weather will be here eventually. Something to look forward to. 😀

Personally, I love long bright summer days with late sundowns....always have.

Funny though, when they begin to get noticably shorter and the cicada and crickets start buzzing - the change in the air is palpable.

I feel like you can smell Fall nipping at the suntanned heels of Summer....that is the time of year I always get a bit sad. Nostalgic as well.

Kinda like when I was a kid and it meant Summer was over and SCHOOL (blech) was right around the corner.

No more going down the shore, no more hanging out at Haddontowne Pool, no more biking through Haddonfield all day....no more anything fun.....

@Newgate I know I am in the minority...but I have never been a summer person. I love the fall and wish it could last 6 months. Cooler weather and shorter days just feel better to me. So no you are not alone....

@Big Joanie I must be crazy too because I agree with you. I'm in Texas so the sun and heat seem to last forever.

I'm with you, Newgate! (and everyone else who feels this way)

Can't stand the long days of daylight. I feel like there is no evening,. Just endless brightness.

Just a few more days and then it goes the other way, with the days getting (ever so slightly) shorter. But I don't really like that term, since it's not the days I want shorter, just the day LIGHT.

Now California (and I think some other states) want to put it on the ballot to do away with turning our clocks back in the Fall. Nooooooo! Let's just leave our clocks set back an hour and forget all about DST.

I live in CO and I absolutely love the long long days of Summer. It is perfect to me when it doesn't start to get dark until around 9:00 P.M. I am always sad to see the days starting to get shorter.

I live in Florida .. the sun is relentless ... some days I get in the car and

say .. Jeeeeez .. enough already ......Luckily I'm in New York for 4 months

Central Midwest -- I'm all about sunshine. Love watering flowers at 8:30 PM or making a quick run to gym or store after dinner clean up. (pre virus days). Alarm goes off at 5:30 AM. Days I dread are driving to work in dark and arriving home at dark. Just drains me. I don't get a lot of projects done around the house.

Hoping those dreary days affect me less once I retire.
