Maybe you will do what we did and that is ordering Schwan's frozen food. We have been customers for decades. We have also ordered great food from QVC!

With Schwan's you can order online and pay online. They will give you a delivery date and a 3 hour time window. If your order is over $50 delivery is free! Even if you are not home they leave your order in an insulated bag at your door.

I'm a regular customer w/Schwan's also and they dropped off my order last night. They have a huge menu and it's very handy, especially in circumstances like this. My guy didn't come until late so likely that many of his customers had larger orders, I know I did.

@wishmoonOur order came last night also! Normally we don't tip but we did last night. It wasn't much but we never have more that $10 cash

My Kids order from them. I started a few years back, live alone, and every two weeks he came for me to buy more, even pressuring me. I stopped it. I buy off of Rastelli's on QVC, also the seafood from them. I'm very pleased, don't have them at my door, pushing what they are hauling.

Sorry you had a bad experience with them, mine never is over-bearing. Glad you found someone convenient who you're pleased with!

I never ordered from Schwan's.It sounds interesting. I thought you ordered online & they delivered.Some posters are saying they come to your house & pressure you. Can someone please clarify this for me? I had an experience once with someone constantly showing up at my door. DH threatened to file a harassment charge against him,to get him to stop. Don't want to go there again! Thank you.

Years ago we had a similar experience with a Meat Delivery Co..I can't remember the name.

They would park their truck in our driveway and keep knocking on the door and not leave.

It was crazy.

@DREAMON I had those meat sellers at my door trying to pressure me to buy. I told them I was a vegetarian so they finally left.

I'm not, but it was the only way to get rid of them!

I don't think we have a Shwans person where we live now. Years ago, when we lived in town we did, and I must say the food I got was delicious. And very handy to have on hand.

I think its a great recommendation, @Jackhound Mom.

I have ordereed steaks and chicken from QVC and have never been disappointed. I would like to order some of the croissants from QVC, but if they are as good as they look I would have no self control and be in more trouble than I am already in.

I have never ordered from Schwans, but my late MIL was a faithful customer. At that time, once she became a regular on his route, the driver came 2x a month and she bought directly from the stock on his truck.

Drivers want customers who buy frequently, and buy moderate to larger amounts to help keep their sales numbers up. Their weekly, monthly and yearly sales numbers are very important. My MIL's delivery guy was always pushing their specials; for example, if he knew she always bought chicken tenders and there was a combo special of that item and a vegetable item that month, he did his best to push her to buy the special.

I do understand their sales and deliveries are by online order now, but am sure their company incentives for high route sales are still very high.

Wow, it is a sales company for goodness sake. Perhaps that is their job to call on their customers every 2 weeks. We have Never had a driver "push" anything on us and we have used this company in several states for decades!

Our driver only comes to our home when we place an order "on-line.!" I was trying to help people get meals that can't go out to shop right now.
