Ooops, I sure let the first of April slide by didn't I. There are a few postings on the March Fence - OK so I am not as mentally alert as I once was..... LOL

Hope all are doing well Please check the March Back Fence if you haven't as there is some info re Betty - her husband Merle has been diagnosed with the Virus. I believe however he is doing better. Keep the prayers coming!!

hey all

finally am here.just a lazy day for me. Catching up on my dvr'ed shows.

not to much going on around here. Dh is working for next 3 days so am here alone.

as usual did normal stuff. Chores done, clothes folded. 2 walks in. Nearly ran my mile. It began to rain and i did not have my slicker for cover, so just speeded up the walk.

Horray it's April ! That means it's spring,at least to me it does. Haven't done anything the last few days but lie on the ice pack. My coccyx is acting up again.
my great nieces posted pictures of her 2 little girls on Facebook and that got me thinking. I sure feel sorry for school age children. First they had to learn how to protect themselves from some mad gunman,now they worry about this scary virus. How stressful it is for little kids today. Wonder how it will affect them later on?

Merle is still considered critically stable. He is still on a ventilator and is sedated. The report I got tonight is he is only using 40 percent oxygen from machine now up from 60 percent. They will do another chest X-ray tomorrow. They try to rock him when they are shifting him around to mice fluids.

I asked if I could talk to him and nurse took the phone to him. I told him I loved him and needed him to come home. I was hoping for a jump in some of his numbers but that sis took happen. There was no response. I can only hope at some level he heard me. I'm so grateful to the nurse for allowing me to Talk to him.

it Seems impossible that a week has gone by. I am through my first week of quarantine.

Betty @yock Thank you so much for giving us an update on Merle. Your husband is a warrior and I can't even begin to describe how much I admire his overall fortitude

Being on a ventilator is unnatural because we were created to breathe for ourselves and having a machine a do it for us is uncomfortable. That's why they have Merle sedated, so his natural desire to breathe won't fight against the ventilator.

It's sounds like he is being progressively weaned off which is a good thing. He is making progress Betty and I can promise you that he heard you tell him that you love him. I'm not just telling you this to make you feel better.

viva,your correct,we did have those events when we were young,but I don't remember any long term effects from them.
feeling a little better today,but still not up to going to the grocery store,thank goodness I have about 8-10 meals in the freezer

Merles sedation was changed. He had been in two and now is on predicted. That probably isn't spelled right. It allows him to be a little more alert we hope this morning when I called they had just given him a bath and he was agitated. She said he doesn't like us messing with him.

So tonight when I called there was no changes but she took the phone in for me. I talked to him and one if his buddies had told me to tell him he was wearing his hat while he was sleeping. Merle always wears a red hat, it's kinda his trade mark. Once again reinforced live.

the nurse said he actually got a little excited this time when he heard my voice. That gives me hope. We have so many prayer warriors and angels surrounding him.

thencounty calls me daily to check my temperature for morning and night. I have one more week of quarantee. My temps are normal. I asked if at the end of next week they would test me and she said no. You don't get tested in Indiana with normal temp they still have a limited supply of Kits.

Hooefully people are finally maybe getting message. Stay home. The sooner we get this, the sooner we flatten that ****** graph.

The day started out gloomy looking and the sun finally came out. I think if it's nice tomorrow (code for not cold) I'll work on a couple of my evergreen shrubs. I like to hand trim my shrubs however if that gets old I'll use the electric hedge trimmer thing. I prefer the leafy and evergreen shrubs to look natural and not so groomed they look architectural.

Well the sun was out this morning and now it's cloudy, lol. I have a weeping mulberry bush/tree (I don't know) in the front garden bed that was there when I bought the house. Because of the silver maple tree in the front yard which blocked the sun to the weeping mulberry, the weeping mulberry grew in cockeyed - leaning to the side severely. I never liked that thing because it grows into another leafy shrub (don't ask me what kind) and it's a pain to groom or prune.

My goal for 2020 was to get the front of the house the way I wanted it so I placed a call with a company to ask about removal/grinding out the weeping mulberry and an evergreen shrub that's on the side of the yard inside the fence.

I asked if they are considered essential, explained why I was calling and said I didn't want anyone to get into hot water since this was a wanna have and not a have to have.

I'm also thinking of getting a new garage door. Again another wanna have and not a have to have.

What a beautiful day here. It must have reached almost 70. On Wed. It's supposed to reach 78-79 . I spent the day cleaning my bathroom vanities. We have four,so it took me a while. By the time this virus is over with I'll have the cleanest home in Va. 😂.

yesterday I ordered my groceries on line for curbside pick up. Because there so busy it will take a few days,but that's fine,there's nothing I need right now as I have a freezer full of food. We may have to make a quick trip for produce,but that's fast and well go to a store nearby so it will be quick in and out.

havent decided what I'll be cleaning tomorrow 🧹🚰🧴

busy day for me

dh made a costco run, acme, lowes run this morn, he was gone till 1pm this afternoon. He was able to get everything on the list all but 3 items and they were minor items

put all the stuff away. Then i had to go out and spray for weeds around the house and then i did ant junk till pest company comes next month.

not much else see all tomorrow

Update: Nurse Ann had some better news this morning. Merle has had an eventful morning. His tube has been removed! They did a breathing trial which was OK and he is now on a Bi-Pap machine. That is the next step, then a cannula I think. He can nod his head. Temp is normal and the cooling blanket was removed. He got a bath this morning as well. Nurse thought that speech might be coming in as that would be a normal step at this point. He has been trying to tell the nurse something but she cannot understand. His mouth would be very dry at this point plus the mask adds to that difficulty. The speech folks might allow him to have something orally. She has assured him he family is in contact. He remains on Lasix to reduce that fluid and his output is good.
