Ok, people, I didn't come up in the days of 'shortages'...and I've read/heard so many people say they can't find toliet paper anywhere ! What is your back up plan???

@sarahpanda Since we don't get the Sears catalog anymore, I would suggest seed catalogs. Also, we still have lots of oak leaves on the ground here in PA.

To answer the OP's question, I figure if it gets to that there are always napkins, paper towels etc. Since then aren't flushable I'd put it in a plastic grocery bag and take it out to the trash or even installing a bidet.

TP didn't always exist and is not used everywhere now.

I've yet to understand the run (😜) on toilet paper!!! Digestive issues are not a system of this virus & people usually don't stock up to this extent on a normal grocery trip...even during snow storm predictions.

@PA Mom-mom We have lots of magazines, but I assume TP will eventually show up in stores and will be rationed so people can't hoard.

I've heard of people making TP from the same material used for cloth diapers. Use and wash.

If you have items that someone else might need--say paper towels-- and the other person has plenty of TP--just swap.

If we go thru our TP stash, then we move on to the burnable options; Kleenex, baby wipes, fast food napkins, paper towels, and last resort is old T-shirt’s torn into rags.

A friend of mine who watches mainstream news. (She watches so I don't have to. LOL), and the media "suggested" it. I'm not sure who she was listening to b/c she can't stand watching that much tv either.

I don't understanding the hoarding unless they plan on selling it themselves.

@RedTop Hey, rags are washable. Gross, but remember cloth diapers and diaper service before God invented Pampers? Oooh! Pampers may be a choice...XL Toddler.

Hit the stores no later than 8am. Grocery stores, Walmart, Target, dollar stores or whatever is in your area. I bet you'll find some TP.

I was at Sam's Club on Thursday. They must have gotten a tractor trailer load of toilet paper. The display was stacked up and took up half the wall. They even had it on sale and it was reduced by $2.

I think it is just a matter of time that everyone will be well supplied.

But it was sad to watch. There were large signs stating Limit 1. And yet just about every person were stacking 3 - 4 or more packages in their cart.

We always have had plenty on hand but I have my trusty portable bidet which is just a squeeze bottle with a hooked spout. Amazon has them. This one was given to me as a joke when I worked and I still had it when I broke several bones in my dominate arm a few months ago. It works great.

Yes, I could wash rags, as I have a second washer in the basement for dirty items I won’t wash in my upstairs washer. But I probably wouldn’t.

Coronavirus is a respiratory illness, but I have heard several times that diarrhea can be a side effect at certain early stages of the virus. I just heard it straight from the Greenbrier Co. couple who is currently recovering from the virus, in their remote TV interview.

Am sure many households sheltering in place will have increased toilet paper usage, whether it’s homes with school age children, college students, or parents working from home. I can deal with not having snacks in the house, or no milk, but no way am I sheltering in place with 3-4 other people, with NO toilet paper!

Are you able to go to the stores @sarahpanda ? If so, I would suggest asking a stocker when their TP trucks arrive. A stocker at my local Wal-mart told me to come between 2:00 and 2:30 as that is when their trucks carrying TP arrive daily. They told me other stores in my town (Kroger, Dollar General) do not gets trucks daily,

@sarahpandaI live in Western NY, and the toilet paper frenzy is still going on. I'm still waiting for the moment I can actually buy some. Just glad a few months ago I bought a 24 pk at BJ's.
