Day seemed particularly gloomy after depressing trip to several stores. DH working on plumbing issue that has necessitated many replacement parts. When he asked me if he could shut off the water for awhile (after stores closed, etc), I just nodded yes and left room to say my prayers. I later heard activity in bath and asked if water back on. Yes. I asked if problem solved, his answer was "pretty much.".

Guess I am sorely in need of humor, but this answer did not strike me as confident that water would not be pouring out the pipe tonight! My pretty much handyman is done for evening and I can at least smile.

Wishing you all a good laugh in your day !

That is a great story, @Twins Mom! I love the "pretty much."

My husband is not allowed to touch plumbing anymore. Whenever he decided HE could take care of a plumbing problem when the kids were little, I'd have to send them out to play. Not a swearing man normally, I never knew what would fly out of his mouth when he was "fixing" the problem. And I'd have to call a plumber anyway when he'd finally throw in the towel!

This thread brought back memories of a plumbing problem my Husband attempted to repair....IT WAS A NIGHTMARE😫🥺

He can do many things.....but now I call a plumber when I have plumbing issues. My husband is not a plumber!😄

What a coincidence! The facet on my sink "died" a few days ago and water leaked into the roll out hamper underneath. Of course DH to the rescue as I was looking up the number for the plumber.

Long story short, I reminded him kindly of past failed attempts and we do have 2 sinks in our bathroom. He turned off the water under my sink, ordered new parts and agreed the plumber will fix it at a later date.

Yes, plumbing has repeatedly been thorn in our sides. This time replacing the sink stopper - universal ones from hardware store would not fit. Went to manufacturer of faucets installed 15 years ago with warranty. Hans Grohe sent replacement. No problem. In this case the way it attaches to drain is different and he needed special tool - thus trip to Lowe’s. I didn’t get into second problem of how something didn’t fit just right. At this point ignorance is bliss.
May a bit of humor find its way into our lives!

I didn't have to worry about plumbing - DH had his trusty right-hand cat to oversee his work.

Although when Rocko played hockey with several bolts - the "goal" being under the fridge - he WAS called by his entire name: "Darnitall Rocko!!" (Had to clean it up a bit for family bulletin board).
