Hello my friends! Just got back from going out to eat with Linda and Gordy downstairs, they took us out - Veteran's day free for the men! Lots and lots of veterans there! If you just take a minute of two to think of all your Blessings I'm sure you'll count a lot. A lot more than trials. I'm so thankful for my family and friends! Sammy too! Thanks Harlene and Zook for posting, nice Veterans's pic, Zook, thank you.

Forget what you have done for others and remember what they have done for you.

Lord, a gift is given freely with no exception. May I become a truly giving person.

M E D I T A T I O N   F O R   T H E   D A Y

"God is our refuge and underneath are God's everlasting arms."
Sheltering arms express the loving protection of God's spirit. In our
troubles and difficulties, we need nothing so much as a refuge, a place
to relax where we can lay down our burdens and get relief from our
cares. We can say to
ourselves: "God is my refuge." We can say it until its truth sinks into
our very souls. We can say it until we know it and are sure of it.
Nothing can seriously upset us or make us afraid, if God truly is our
refuge.

P R A Y E R   F O R   T H E   D A Y

I pray that I may go each day to God as a refuge until fear goes and
peace and security come. I pray that I may feel deeply secure in the
haven of God's spirit.

Feast Day of St. Martin Tours - November 11

St. Martin Tours

O Precious Jesus, Saint Martin was raised by pagan parents, but after joining the Roman army he began to study the Christian faith. When his desire to imitate You compelled him to help a beggar, You came to him in a vision and called him to receive baptism and enter religious life. Eventually he became a bishop and banished pagan worship from his diocese. I ask him to pray for those who work in the military today. Protect them, O Lord, and inspire their faith to grow amidst the demands and training of military duty. Give them a desire to serve You above all else and guide them through holy priests. Saint Martin, pray for us. Amen.

to Our Lady Help of Christians

Most holy Virgin Mary, appointed by God to be the Help of Christians, we choose you as the Mother and protectress of our home. We ask you to favour us with your powerful protection. Preserve our home from every danger, from fire, flood, lighting, storm, earthquake, thieves, vandals, and from every other danger. Bless us, protect us, defend us, keep as your own all the people who dwell in this home: protect them from all accidents and misfortunes, but above of all obtain for them the most important grace of avoiding sin. Mary help of Christians pray for all those- who live in this home which is consecrated to you for all time. Amen

Prayer to Continue to Fight for God

Lord, if your people still have need of my services, I will not avoid the toil. Your will be done. I have fought the good fight long enough. Yet if you bid me continue to hold the battle line in defense of your camp, I will never beg to be excused from failing strength. I will do the work you entrust to me. While you command, I will fight beneath your banner.

The boy walked along the ocean shore . . . trying not to stray. He looked up to his father saying, "Dad, I want to play."

His father looked upon him, with love showing in his eyes. "Do what you want to, my son . . . but do not leave my side."

"I would never leave you Daddy, I love you way too much." But the boy took a step away, out of his father's range of touch.

He walked through the surf, the waves tickling one toe. "If I take one more step in . . ." he thought, "Father will never know."

His father called out to him, "Son, to me remain true!" The boy thought with glee . . . "At the moment I don't need you!"

His father felt a sadness, but he held his tongue. Sometimes lessons need to be learned . . . even when so young.

The boy stepped out a little further . . . the water covering his waist. His father spoke with urgency . . . his father spoke with haste.

"My son, come back to me," he said, "The day is almost done!" "Not yet, Dad," the boy yelled, "I'm having too much fun!"

But the boy did not have his father's insight so he could not yet tell, The tide was coming in fast . . . there would be no time to yell.

"Father!" he tried to scream, as the water covered his head. "I need you now, Daddy!" was what the boy had said.

And in a single instant his father was by his side. "I thought you left me, Daddy . . . I thought you went to hide."

The father looked upon his son . . . a tear streaming down his cheek. The boy looked upon his father . . . and cried the sobs of the meek.

"I would never leave you son . . . for I love you just the same." "I was only waiting . . . for you to call upon my name."

Somewhere Someone's Praying -

Down upon their knees, Lifting you before the Throne, With love and gentle pleas.

Asking God to give you strength, To face another day. And when the night is darkest, Shine light upon your way.

Somewhere someone's kneeling, To whisper your name in prayer, Knowing that you need to feel God's love and tender care.

They intercede on your behalf, Because they love you so, Knowing that you have a need, To their Father they will go.

They pray when your not able, To speak a single word. What peace there is knowing, Their prayers will be heard.

They lay you on the altar, As they kneel there at His feet. Giving all your cares to Him, There at the mercy seat.

Our God is always listening, To every earnest prayer, When we look to Him for help, The answer is always there.

It's such comfort to know, That someone prays for you, Placed within His loving hands, Those prayers will see you through.

As you kneel before the Father, Thank Him for those who care, When you bow before the mercy seat, Whisper their name in prayer.

Almighty and Eternal God,

Give me, I beseech You,
the great gift of inward peace.

Command the winds and storms
of my unruly passions.
Subdue, by Your grace, my proneness to love created things too much.

tradition with them and keep it. Learn what they have to teach. Use
your ears more than your mouth. Make yourself available. Show up at
their concerts, games and events. Find a common interest. Hold
hands during a walk. Apologize when you've done something wrong.
Listen to their favorite music with them. Keep the promises you
make. Wave and smile when you part. Display their artwork in your
home. 

Thank them. Point out what you like about them. Clip magazine
pictures or articles that interest them. Give them lots of
compliments. Catch them doing something right. Encourage win-win
solutions. Give them your undivided attention. Ask for their
opinion. Have fun together. Be curious with them. Introduce them to
your friends and family. Tell them how much you like being with
them. Let them solve most of their own problems. Meet their
friends. Meet their parents. Let them tell you how they feel. Help
them become an expert at something. Be excited when you see them.
Tell them about yourself. Let them act their age. Praise more,
criticize less. Be consistent. 

Admit when you make a mistake. Enjoy your time together. Give them
a special nickname. Marvel at what they can do. Tell them how proud
you are of them. Pamper them. Unwind together. Be happy. Ask them
to help you. Support them. Applaud their successes. Deal with
problems and conflicts while they are still small. Chaperone a
dance. Tell them stories in which they are the hero. Believe in

Notice when they grow. Wave and honk when you drive by them. Give

November 11 - Jesus Calling

Do not let any set of circumstances intimidate you. The more challenging your day, the more of My Power I place at your disposal. You seem to think that I empower you equally each day, but this is not so. Your tendency upon awakening is to assess the difficulties ahead of you, measuring them against your average strength. This is an exercise in unreality.

I know what each of your days will contain, and I empower you accordingly. The degree to which I strengthen you on a given day is based mainly on two variables: the difficulty of your circumstances, and your willingness to depend on Me for help. Try to view challenging days as opportunities to receive more of My Power than usual. Look to Me for all that you need, and watch to see what I will do. As your day, so shall your strength be.

I pray also that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in the saints, and his incomparably great power for us who believe. That power is like the working of his mighty strength, which he exerted in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms. —Ephesians 1:18–20
