Today my older friend had her second hip replacement. I rode with my other friend to visit her at the hospital.

The friend who had surgery had her neighbor take her at 5 a m. He and his wife have been very kind about helping her. He was at the hospital when we arrived at 11:00. Since she was still in recovery we had lunch and her neighbor stayed, he wouldn't go. At 12:00 they let us see her.
She's about 88 and looked good, her color and monitors were good. We ordered lunch for her, and got her juice and crackers, ice.
The hospital is a top orthopedic center so they will be careful, she should do well there. She will be in rehabilitation about a week and go home.
We are concerned about what happens then. She has no maid or cleaning service and won't get one. Her cousin came and stayed awhile for her last surgery. Now they aren't speaking. Essentially she has us and the neighbors.
I'm afraid of a fall, and she has no monitoring or alarm system or nurses aids or hospice coming to assist. No meals on wheels, she doesn't want it. All of our suggestions she's turned down.

Today I took her a card with a photo of a dog like she once had. Enclosed was a card with a bedside guardian angel. It's metal with pearls and stones, tiny enough to sit on a tray or table. It says "I will watch over you". She will need it and many prayers!

I need some miracles-for my elderly Dad to be healthier, for me to feel stronger and better about myself, for me to find a new job that is fulfilling and treats me with respect.

@butterfly123 Thanks for suggesting help for my friend. LOL! She's a very independent lady! She even really fussed with me for holding her arm to steady her when she was wobbly once. (Falling isn't an option in my mind)! 😬
We will help with her recovery as much as she allows. She has money to afford help, but she just doesn't want to be bothered or spend the money! She has no children to help. She didn't want a maid I suggested. She said she would have to pick things up so she could clean. 🙄
My other friend who helps her has rheumatoid arthritis and other problems but still has her husband.

My mother said "God helps those who help themselves". I should tell my friend that!🥰
