itsmetoo, I used to have a primary care doctor I secretely called "Doogie Houser". Switched insurance plans (our workplace used to do that every year or two, switch providers so oops, find a new doctor!) and in talking to the new doctor's office they asked who my previous doctor was, and I was ashamed to tell them I could not remember his real name, but I told them the clinic, and that I thought of him so strongly as "Doogie Houser" that I'd never remembered his real name. The clerk laughed out loud and told me that she knew *exactly* who I was talking about! So apparantly I was not the only person, either medical community or patient, who thought of that doctor that way.

Oohhhh, the joys of being an adult, right?

That really is funny and interesting! DH had to see a urologist, the same one my neighbor had seen. She told me he was very young looking and reminded her of Doogie Houser. When I finally met him, I had to contain myself. Not only was he very young looking, but his last name actually is Houser!

This is my nic, that's funny but at the same time, can you imagine how often that poor doctor must get asked if his name is "Doogie"? I wonder if he thinks about changing his name every once in a while? OTOH, he might be too young to even remember the TV show, so the name means nothing to him in that context!

According to the list I have, but this time of year, the kid is revived.

I'm listening to Christmas songs right now. Nat King Cole!! on now. It's a mix.

There's a lot of "kids" out there now helping us out. LOL

I don't know what having your favorite spatula has to do w/ anything except with getting set in your ways. Yep. I do have some habits and favorite cooking utensils, but always have. If you can't tell by some my posts, I'm still quite the kid at heart. I find a sense of wonder and interest in almost everything. I'll try something and anything new at least once, except putting my head under water...can't swim.

This sense of adventure may come along with creativity and being an artist. Instead of asking "why", I say "why not". That keeps me young. I enjoy breaking some rules of style...larger jewelry even though I'm quite small, an armful of bangles that many women my size wouldn't do, don't follow trends, still wear my cowboy boots while others moved on to knee high boots w/ leggings (oh, don't get me started on leggings). I refuse to wear dresses or skirts, just not a girly girl...funny being a makeup artist, right? I'm a little bit of a rebel, have a potty mouth that's difficult to control and never learned to censor my opinions.You've noticed that here. What you see is what you get...honesty. I assume when you "grow up", all of that is tempered. Oh well! Lol

I keep telling myself I am not a grown-up, I am not an adult, I am in a senior position and reality is what I make it.

I relate to the doctor looking like a kid, my doc is in his late 40's and he looks like a kid to me.LOL

@itsmetoo Mine are mostly my age or older (mid 60s) - we grew up together and each appointment I wonder how long I have till I have to find a replacement. I moved and still drive 40 miles or so to see two specialists only needed once a year.
