I love the "Vermont Country Store"! I just received their Christmas Catalog this past week...Love seeing all the RETRO items that remind me of my childhood from the 1960's like "Lemon Up Shampoo"...Who remember's "Lemon Up"?

I still use Lemon Up!! When I saw it in their catalog years ago I bought a bottle and then another and another....I loved using it in the 70's and it's just the same now.

I just love their catalog. If anyone is looking for old time candies, this is also the place. DH has always loved knit ski PJs and gets them from here.

Have not in awhile... But, their shortbread cookies were always good. I think they came in plain, maple, and toffee. Good with coffee in the morning or just a TV nibble at night. Hmmm, thanks for reminding me....

It's so much fun looking through their catalogue. I love their jams and relishes. Their holiday cakes are absolutely fantastic. And I'm addicted to their small Italian hard candies, each individually wrapped and only 4 calories each. I keep them in my purse, my night table, and my car. When I want a little sweet, they're perfect. I've also bought some lovely nighties from them. Vermont Country Store is a unique piece of Americana.

I'm assuming it got poofed because I posted their free shipping promo code which I forgot was a "no-no"!

I shopped for lingerie until it was no longer made in the U.S.A. It's now made in Honduras, and the quality dropped way down!!! That was it for me.

I buy my "clothesline crisp" percale sheets from them for the Summertime. And for Winter months I buy QVC 's Malden Mills polar fleece sheets. I've also given a few of the vintage caroler candles that I grew up with in the '50's. Lots of great childhood memories in their catalog.

When I visit my daughter in Vermont, this is always a great treat. We spend 3-4 hours in the store tasting all the samples, looking at all the great products, and doing a lot of purchasing. Their sugar free jellies and jams are so good.

On property is a wonderful restaurant (Bryant's) for lunch.

The small town has a few nice shops to browse and in the summer, live theatre.

Edited to add: If you need a gift for a male football fan, they have a football shaped summer sausage. My adult grandson enjoys this gift. He tells me it tastes good too.

I've often wondered how VCS is able to offer products that have not been made in years. Obviously food items cannot be leftovers from years gone by. Do they purchase food formulas or just try to reproduce the best they can? As for perfumes, even when produced by still standing companies, many fragrances do not smell like or have the staying power of the originals. I remember Evening in Paris was sold in the 5 & 10. It's now $50.

I've shopped at the VCS over the years. I always love looking through their catalog because it's creates this wonderful mood of bygone days. -- It reminds me a bit of the J. Peterman (I think) catalogs that were spoofed on Seinfeld. I was sorry when the company expanded too quickly and went out of business.
