    <description>&lt;P&gt;Yesterday I was reminded again why some are fat.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Three of us were at the pool and two are exactly the same age, early 40s.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;One is fit and trim and training to do the Hood to Coast again next month. &amp;nbsp;They run as a relay from Mt. Hood to the coast, all day and night. &amp;nbsp;Ate some hummus, an apple and some homemade zucchini bread with water. &amp;nbsp;Not a vegetarian tho.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;The other is obese and ate 3 large, store-bought wraps of some type with bottled sweet tea with a bag of Puffs.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;You see this all the time if you watch. &amp;nbsp;Then they wonder why.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;She lost ME AT “.....Whenever you GO on a DIET......”&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don’t go on/off DIETS any more. I eat food that makes my body work at its best and do that every day. If I eat counter to that rule on a given day, I fix the mistake the next day and move on.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I don’t know who “Dr. Becky” is, or her level of expertise, but I had the interest in your post&amp;nbsp;&lt;a href="https://community.qvc.com/t5/user/viewprofilepage/user-id/111321"&gt;@ECBG&lt;/a&gt;, to pursue a little research about her thinking, and found that I actually do use her 4 step principle myself.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;But “Go on-go off” are serious negative buzz words to me , and they kept me morbidly obese for 50 years out of my life. The LANGUAGE of size management is VERY IMPORTANT to me. I suspect that Dr. Becky will address this at some point in her public work.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I’d also be more comfortable with the statement “.....discusses (her take on) the chemistry of weight loss”, because if she, or anyone else, REALLY had all the answers, none of us would have eating/obesity problems, right?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;BOTTOM LINE- thank you for posting this information! Potentially helpful thoughts in developing a positive, healthy plan that works to give your body what it needs!&lt;/P&gt;</description>

      <description>&lt;P&gt;“....fat is the body’s energy source...”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;”...(to burn more fat)....eat more fat...”&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;No.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This Dr. is classic low-carb....talking low-carb nutrition when&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;historically doctors have minimal nutritional education.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If you want to burn the fat you already have on your body,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;must not eat the fat you’re so desperately trying to get rid of.&lt;/STRONG&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Seriously ridiculous when you think about it...how people are&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;shoving more fat in their diet thinking it will magically change&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;their life. &amp;nbsp;It won’t. &amp;nbsp;Facts are facts.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;&lt;I&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Analogy&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/I&gt;&lt;/U&gt;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If the faucet is on &amp;amp; the sink is clogged, the sink will eventually&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;overflow. Doctors, nutritionists, book authors, etc are all good&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;at telling you how to clean up the water on the floor...but NOTHING&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;about how to unclog the sink. &amp;nbsp;Eating less fat is unclogging the sink.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;This analogy is the perfect illustration on how T2 diabetes works.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Restricting calories &amp;amp; eating less CH are classic examples on how&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;to fix the SYMPTOMS, but not the cause. &amp;nbsp;Reduce the dietary fat,&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;the muscle cells will accept insulin easier, everything works more&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;efficiently &amp;amp; blood sugars/insulin&amp;nbsp;needs will reduce as&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;Mother Nature intended.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It’s not that hard.&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I went to her website. Why won't they change their viewpoint?&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It's all about the $$$...they can't profit from folks who are healthy. Think about my GERD/acid reflux/heartburn I had...it became severe over a 5 yr period. What do the pharma companies push for that health issue on all those commercials? We are now healthier and saving over $800 a month from not having to take lots of meds anymore...DH was able to stop taking his 2 diabetic meds &amp;amp; Crestor, and I was able to stop taking Prevacid and all the other acid blockers I was eating like candy to try and stop the acid reflux/heartburn/GERD.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&lt;U&gt;&lt;STRONG&gt;Common Sense&lt;/STRONG&gt;&lt;/U&gt;: Whenever anyone is able to get off meds they are healthier...period.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;If it wasn't for DH getting sick enough to have to go to the Dr, we would still be very unhealthy. One or both of us could have been in the hospital by now.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I realize that 99.9999% of folks will not change their belief of what they believe is a healthier way of eating. I am absolutely fine with that. I think back to a period when folks thought the world was flat and wonder how many hundreds (thousands?) of years it took to get some folks to believe otherwise...LOL&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;I also remember an old saying my grandfather taught me that starts with 'You can lead a horse to water...".&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It it also possible for someone to change their habits later in life despite the belief that is common...too old to change. DH and I are proof that it can still happen. DH is 52 and I'll be 60 by the end of the year.&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;&amp;nbsp;&lt;/P&gt;&lt;P&gt;It is also possible for folks who are vegan to live a low carb/keto lifestyle.       <description>&lt;P&gt;Looks like sensible advice on her website.&amp;nbsp; It is certainly not going to work for everyone.&amp;nbsp; I have had some friends and family try this type of diet and they couldn't hack it. But I have also seen people be wildly successful with it too.&amp;nbsp; No one size fits all out there but I have never felt better in my life.&lt;/P&gt;</description>
