Has anyone taken the quiz offered by Via Institute on character traits?

I found it surprisingly accurate.

Appreciation of Beauty and Excellence is my #1

Two through four (out of 25) are Creativity, Honesty, and Love of Learning. The lower numbers for anyone are not considered "weak" traits, but simply lesser strengths.

You do get on their mailing list, but it's very easy to just unsubscribe. I found the test worth going to the trouble.

ETA: For those decide to react without checking out the site, you should know that this is the farthest thing from the kind of online quizzes you may think. It's been used by those in the psychology field for their clients, and is considered as a useful tool along with the Myers-Briggs test.

It is my personal belief that "quizzes" and "surveys" are a way of invading your privacy.

For those who are reacting without checking out the site, this is the farthest thing from the kind of online quizzes you may think. It's been used by those in the psychology field for their clients, and is considered as a useful tool along with the Myers-Briggs test. (I'm adding this paragraph to the OP.)

Hi @GingerPeach I did it. I think taking tests like that are interesting and fun. There was no invasion of privacy. My test pretty much came out like I thought it would so I do feel it is extremely accurate.

@GingerPeach My last boss was very interested in a cohesive working atmosphere & every new hire -myself included- had to take a personality test to make sure we all had the traits she was looking for!

I also quit doing internet quizs when I read up how they invade your privacy and log information on you. Yes, it is not anonymous at all.....they know who you are and where you live!😯

I think the people here dont really understand that these tests are not invading privacy, they are used in colleges as well as many companies to get an idea of the individuals strengths in order to place them into a good fit for a position. Maybe people here dont know that. Sad.

Anyway, i remember taking a test like that a long time ago at the university and my top trait was appreciation of beauty and conscienctious, thats all i remember at the top of my head. I think i still have a copy of it on my old computer somewhere.

I don't know how companies choose to use it, or which companies do use it. What I've read is that it is used very much like the Myers-Briggs test, @qualitygal I'm sure it's up to the individual companies as to how they want to make use of it, as you're probably already thinking.

I really don't see why people keep referring to invasion of privacy when they haven't even looked at the website.

It is NOT at all what they are thinking.

@GingerPeach I can understand. I also understand their fear of privacy being compromised. But i do know from my own experience that it is not something to be feared. The test that i took was called DISC which is a personality test and it really helped me.

There is no privacy anymore. Just google your name and see. Also, everytime you post on this forum, all of your comments are out there on the Internet, not just on QVC's website.

And, if you use Google, every search you make is recorded and stored.

The quiz the OP mentioned is used by employers. I had to take a quiz like this when I applied for a job in-house when I was working. I didn't get the job, so I guess my personality was a flop for that department.
