TIME CHANGE AGAIN

Here we go again....lose an hour, gain an hour. It takes me days to adjust and Molly is off schedule, too.

Does it effect anyone else?

I like DST so much better. I am going out to dinner tonight, and it won't be pitch black when I'm coming home. I don't like to drive at night and hate when it gets dark at 5:30.

Personally I would like to stay on DST, but I do understand it's not good for kids to be waiting for the school bus in the dark.

Stick with 1 or the other, DST or standard time, I don't really care which one. The original purpose has been gone for decades, and just my guess, but I think most would prefer not changing.

No, only one hour does not affect me at all. When I travel and many hours are involved, it bothers me, but not DH.

My dogs are on DST all year long. They eat and get their treats in on a schedule. They get a treat at 8 pm on the dot during DST. When we are in EST, they still want their treat at the same time, which is now 7 pm. They come right up to me and stare and wait, if I ignore them, they bark...they have an internal clock and will remind me when I forget. Their timing is spot on perfect.

It didn’t bother me when we lived in a state that observed DST. But the state we live in now doesn’t observe DST.

Just a thought. Here's how I have been working through DST changes for the past couple of years.

I do nothing with the clocks the night before DST begins or ends. I go to bed and get a good night's sleep and the following morning, once I am awake and having my coffee, I decide to give up or regain an hour of my early morning.

Last night I slept for 8 hours. There is nothing that man or the government can do to change that - I was unconscious for 8 hours

On the day we spring forward I engage in activities that tend to make me feel like the day got away from me under normal circumstances. By that I mean I will purge paperwork or sort my underwear and sock drawer. These types of things tend to engross me and say, wow, the day got away from me. It takes my focus off of losing the hour in the morning.

On days when I regain the hour I just wallow in it

I hate Daylight Saving and it always takes me several days to get accustomed to it again. Today I feel as if I’ve lost half the day instead of just one hour.

I wouldn’t mind so much if it didn’t last as long as it does now. It wasn’t so bad when it started later in the year and ended earlier, like it used to.

However, I do agree completely with @hckynut. It’s original purpose is long gone. Just pick one time and stick with it all year.

I totally agree with @hckynut, and would like to stick with DST full time. I do not see the need for a time change.

I totally forgot. Where we live we don’t spring forward or fall back, so I never even think about it. I need to keep this in mind when calling home!

From what I surmise, if you live on the Mainland, it must be Arizona you call home. Read somewhere the other "non-time-change-zones" are on "the islands".

@hckynut We live in HI. Our time changes gradually throughout the year, which is nice. When we go home to visit, it always seems to get dark too early or too late. I honestly don’t see the need to recognize the time change.
