I almost always have a vase of fresh flowers, either at home or at work. I gravitate towards simple varieties, so I don't spend a lot of money, but they just brighten my environment so much. My favorites are mini-carnations, sunflowers and occasionally, roses.

I always buy if they are marked down a bit.

Usually once a month during the fall and winter months. DH bought a bunch of alstroemeria that were in buds on the 16th. They opened and still are beautiful.

I would love to as my grocery store has some beautiful ones and they are cheap. However my cats eat them and that is not good.

My DD loves fresh cut flowers. She brings me bouquets every couple of weeks.

Never buy them unless someone is coming to dinner. For me they are more bother with changing the water, scrubbing the vases, petals dropping, etc. etc. And the nice ones are too expensive.

I don't like when they die - which, in some cases, is only a matter of days. Then it seems like a waste of money. So I decorate here-and-there with high-quality faux - i.e. fake - flowers.

I do all the time!

Grocery store has some beautiful flowers. I buy them before they *peak*. They can last a long time.

I grow flowers and shrubs specifically to cut and bring inside. Even if it's just a sprig of geranium in a shot glass on the kitchen window sill. Makes me happy!

Not often, but sometimes for a special holiday. . .During the summer months I grow garden flowers just to be able to cut and make arrangementws. Then I have them in every room and feel free to share them with others. I also have alot of houseplants, which I decorate with. I'm a bit of a snob when it comes to artificial flowers, I really just don't like them.

@AlleghenyThey are the BEST, aren't they? My husband first bought them for me. Now I buy them whenever I can, which is usually at Sam's Club. Lots of colors and they last a couple of weeks or more.

I bought a plant last year. The stems weren't as long as they are when I buy them, but I enjoyed seeing them from the window. Hoping they'll come back. If not, I'll buy more!

eta...Another thing about alstroemeria in the ground...they are not to be cut, the stems are to be pulled...for "deadheading" or to take inside and enjoy.

pretty rarely......it is just not something i enjoy spending my money on. they are gone within a week usually. i do own a lot of houseplants. i have a beautiful backyard and lots of windows. that is how i enjoy my nature.

Usually in the Spring and Summer - maybe twice a month I'll pick up a bouquet at the grocery store. I love tulips and Gerbera daisies. I tried to keep houseplants, but I have terrible luck with them, so I no longer bother.
