Hello my friends! Hope you all had a wonderful and positive day today! Here in MN it's a very nice warm day! My husband had the day off today and we started a batch of Hard Apple Cider and hope it turns out. We used up all our apples! Linda (downstairs) called and they wanted to take us out to eat tonight, but we already ate, so they said tomorrow night, so we will. Please, please keep Linda in your prayers, Remember she has cancer, and her kidney only 1/2 there anymore and she's got stage 4 kidney failure so has to go on dialysis, and needs to be strong! With this, she can live longer than a year, but while on it, and decides she can't handle it anymore, it's just 4 days! Quite scary. Linda is 63. Let's pray for a miracle for her! May God's Will be done!

Do not run ahead of the Lord, but walk with Him, pray for His guidance

and listen to His answers. Lord, let me put Your will first in my life.

S C R I P T U R E F O R T H E D A Y

"Peace, peace, to the far and the near, says the LORD; and I will heal
them." ~Psalm 57:19

M E D I T A T I O N F O R T H E D A Y

When we look to God for strength to face responsibility and are quiet
before God, God's healing touch can cause the divine quiet to flow
into our very being. When in weakness we cry to God, God's touch can
bring healing, the renewal of our courage, and the power to meet every
situation and be victorious. When we faint by the way or are
distracted by feelings of inferiority, then we can rely on the touch
of God's spirit to support us on our way. Then we can arise and go
forth with confidence.

P R A Y E R F O R T H E D A Y

I pray that I may lay myself open today to the healing touch of God.
I pray that I may not falter or faint by the wayside, but renew my
courage through prayer.

Needs of the Heart

Every man has a deep "heart need" that cannot be filled with doctrine or
creed, for the soul of man knows nothing more than just that he is longing for a
haven that is safe and sure and a fortress where he feels secure.

I know that He who brought me into this world will also take me safely
back...for though there are many things I lack, He will not let me go alone into a
land that is unknown. With that knowledge, I can travel happily on "The Highway
To Heaven" and always with "hurrying feet", for I know God will open "new
fields of usefulness" for me, where there are no limitations, no handicaps, and
no restrictions.

I know that everything that ever happens in my life, whether it is good or
bad, glad or sad, God sent it for a reason, and we must truly believe that "God
Never Makes Mistakes." We must not question what God sends. Instead, we must
realize that when we question God, we lose the unquestionable power of faith
and we no longer can enjoy its endless benefits.

I am well aware that I cannot make it on my own, so I ask God to take my hand
and hold it tightly, for I cannot walk alone. Each day God only asks us to do
our best, and then He will take over and do all the rest. Remember, God is
always available and ready to help anyone who asks Him, for God is here. He's
there. He's everywhere. He's as close to you as He is to me...and wherever you
are, God is sure to be. While I may never have met you face-to-face, in God's
love by His grace, our hearts and minds can meet and share -- though we are
oceans and miles apart, God unites us in spirit and heart!

May God's love and God's joy flow around this troubled world and may you and
I, together, help to make this a reality. This is the wish and the prayer of
the great poet,

Helen Steiner Rice

The Fork

There was a woman who had been diagnosed with a terminal illness and had
been given three months to live. So as she was getting her things "in
order," she contacted her pastor and had him come to her house to discuss
certain aspects of her final wishes.

She told him which songs she wanted sung at the service, what scriptures she
would like to be read, and what outfit she wanted to be buried in. The woman
also requested to be buried with her favorite Bible. Everything was in order
and the pastor was preparing to leave when the woman suddenly remembered
something very important to her.

"There's one more thing," she said excitedly. "What's that?" came the
pastor's reply. "This is very important," the woman continued. "I want to be
buried with a fork in my right hand."

The pastor stood looking at the woman, not knowing quite what to say. "That
surprises you, doesn't it?" the woman asked. "Well, to be honest, I'm
puzzled by the request," said the pastor.

The woman explained. "In all my years of attending church socials and
potluck dinners, I always remember that when the dishes of the main course
were being cleared, someone would inevitably lean over and say, 'Keep your
fork'. It was my favorite part because I knew that something better was
coming...like velvety chocolate cake or deep-dish apple pie. Something
wonderful, and with substance! So, I just want people to see me there in
that casket with a fork in my hand and I want them to wonder 'What's with
the fork?'.

Then I want you to tell them: "Keep your fork....the best is yet to come".

The pastor's eyes welled up with tears of joy as he hugged the woman
goodbye. He knew this would be one of the last times he would see her before
her death. But he also knew that the woman had a better grasp of heaven than
he did. She KNEW that something better was coming.

At the funeral people were walking by the woman's casket and they saw the
pretty dress she was wearing and her favorite Bible and the fork placed in
her right hand. Over and over, the pastor heard the question "What's with
the fork?" And over and over he smiled. During his message, the pastor told
the people of the conversation he had with the woman shortly before she
died. He also told them about the fork and about what it symbolized to her.
The pastor told the people how he could not stop thinking about the fork and
told them that they probably would not be able to stop thinking about it
either. He was right.

So the next time you reach down for your fork, let it remind you oh so
gently, that the best is yet to come.. Friends are a very rare jewel,
indeed. They make you smile and encourage you to succeed. They lend an ear,
they share a word of praise, and they always want to open their hearts to
us.

Words of wisdom: I've learned that ......

Author Unknown

I've learned that sometimes when I'm angry I have the right to be angry, but that doesn't give me the right to be cruel.

I've learned that true friendship continues to grow, even over the longest distance. Same goes for true love.

I've learned that just because someone doesn't love you the way you want them to doesn't mean they don't love you with all they have.

I've learned that maturity has more to do with what types of experiences you've had and what you've learned from them and less to do with how many birthdays you've celebrated.

I've learned that you should never tell a child her dreams are unlikely or outlandish. Few things are more humiliating, and what a tragedy it would be if she believed it

I've learned that your family won't always be there for you. It may seem funny, but people you aren't related to can take care of you and love you and teach you to trust people again. Families aren't biological.

I've learned that no matter how good a friend someone is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I've learned that it isn't always enough to be forgiven by others. Sometimes you have to learn to forgive yourself.

I've learned that no matter how bad your heart is broken the world doesn't stop for your grief.

I've learned that our background and circumstances may have influenced who we are, but we are responsible for who we become.

From the Prayerbook of the Missionaries of Charity

Let us all become a true and fruitful branch on the vine Jesus,

by accepting Him in our lives as it pleases Him to come:

as the Truth - to be told;
as the Life - to be lived;
as the Light - to be lighted;
as the Love - to be loved;
as the Way - to be walked;
as the Joy - to be given;
as the Peace - to be spread;
as the Sacrifice - to be offered,

in our families and within our neighborhood.

Amen.

October 6 - Jesus Calling

Be willing to follow wherever I lead. Follow Me wholeheartedly, with glad anticipation quickening your pace. Though you don’t know what lies ahead, I know; and that is enough! Some of My richest blessings are just around the bend: out of sight, but nonetheless very real. To receive these gifts, you must walk by faith—not by sight. This doesn’t mean closing your eyes to what is all around you. It means subordinating the visible world to the invisible Shepherd of your soul.

Sometimes I lead you up a high mountain with only My hand to support you. The higher you climb, the more spectacular the view becomes; also, the more keenly you sense your separation from the world with all its problems. This frees you to experience exuberantly the joyous reality of My Presence. Give yourself fully to these Glory-moments, awash in dazzling Light. I will eventually lead you down the mountain, back into community with others. Let My Light continue to shine within you as you walk among people again.

We live by faith, not by sight. —2 Corinthians 5:7

Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and glory are in his sanctuary. —Psalm 96:6

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.” —John 8:12

For with you is the fountain of life; in your light we see light. —Psalm 36:9

I can't figure this thing out yesterday they made me change my password, so I came back today and tried to post the first time and naturally it disapeared. So before I called them again I thought I would give it one more chance so I go back and it tells me I have to enter my email address and password. Well I'm looking at it and those two things are right out there as plain as day so then I click on show and I see it has reverted back to my old password. So I come back here and I try again and just say Hi and low and behold it's here. So I decided to try again and tha's here. Now I wonder if this is going to be here when I finnish.

If it works fine and if it doesn't I will be saying goodbye.

Blessings

Harlene(lovestopaint)
