Medicare and You book

My dh is on medicare, I am reading thru the book and in the back is the listing for different plans...listed by region. Does anyone know how to find out their 'region'? And yes I have tried looking online for the information, but I did not find any answers, thanks.

Google CMS PLANFINDER MEDICARE. That should get you to the govt site to compare options for your area. I think you input your zip code to drill down to your specific areas’ options.

Wish I could help, my plans are broken down by county.

For example, Humana has several plans listed in my book, in the description, it shows which counties each plan covers.

My instinct tells me there is some information either on your card or in that book to tell you which region. You could call one of the providers, they would know. Or call Medicare.

Maybe someone in a similar situation will reply

I'm going on Medicare in Dec and I typed in Medicare regions and found tons of info from written info to maps of the regions. Good luck

Google Medicare regions maps and you will get the map that shows what region the states are in.

My booklet gives the plans covered by listing the various areas and/or counties. I live in a small state, so it lists “various counties” or general areas, like the “southern”, “northern”, etc. counties. I could get a general idea of which plans are offered in my county from that. At which point I’d have to call the company or go to their website for further information.

I don’t want to change my plan, but just to check it out, I went to CMS Planfinder Medicare as @SPIFFYPOOH suggested. I put in my zip code, gave them a couple of answers as to what type of plan I was interested in, and it showed me which plans/companies are available to me. One was the plan and company with which I am already enrolled.

That should give you at least an idea of which companies offer plans in your area. From there, I would contact the companies themselves for further information. Either by phone or website. Good luck!🍀

Formatting is wonky but Boston is Region 1, New York is Region 2, and so on

@Mom2Dogs If they're like my 90 year old father they do nothing. He just keeps the same plan that he's had forever. Last year I compared plans for him, and what he had was the best for him. It was the first year I'd had Medicare and realized that you should check your plan each year. I'll probably do it for him again this year.

We just came in from a Medicare seminar and I underestimate myself because I really knew a lot of what was gone over.

I just needed to be sure I was right about it all.

My husband is eligible in March and even though it's early, I wanted to make sure we went to this one since we don't know if there will be more.

The township doesn't post the monthly calendar of events until the first of the current month so there's no way of knowing what's coming for November or December.

I have never had any problems with the Medicare or Social Security sites, all you have to do is "read the instructions", LOL!

BTW, these books come out every year, and filled with good information, IMO!

Does your DH know you call him "elderly"? I am on medicare, but I certainly don't think of myself as "elderly", LOL!
