Daily Positive Thread for Monday

gloriajean — Sun, 27 Sep 2015 22:38:28 GMT

Greetings to all! Hope God showered you with many blessings this Sunday! After a very beautiful Mass here, we visited with my first cousin a bit, who sold their house a few years ago and are living in an apartment too, and love it. I have Relevant Radio on listening to the Pope's visit, our TV doesn't have the coverage, but I enjoy reading the posts about him here. Such a remarkable man we have for our Pope! Praise God!

Forget the useless and unhealthy things of your past that clutter your mind so

that you can live a life that is alive and vibrant. Lord, help me to discard all

that clouds my day so that I am able to live the life that You intend me to live.

"Your kingdom come. Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven."
~Matthew 6:10

"Your will be done" can be our often repeated prayer. And in the
willing of God's will there can be gladness. We can delight to do
God's will because when we do, all our life can go better and
everything will tend to work well for us in the long run. When we are
honestly trying to do God's will and humbly accepting the results,
nothing can seriously hurt us. Those of us who accept the will of God
in our lives may not inherit the earth, but we can inherit real peace
of mind.

I pray that I may have a yielded will. I pray that my will may be
attuned to the will of God.

I Need A Hug Lord

I need a hug Lord please hold me tight,

it would give me added assurance everything’s all right.

Now I know I’m standing on faith and I understand;

You are in control and hold me in your hand.

I know in my heart that I haven’t a spirit of fear

and that when I have a need you are always there.

My faith doesn’t depend on me getting this embrace;

the faith you’ve provided is strongly in place.

An embrace is something of which I’ve had far too few,

having no others wouldn’t matter if I had one from you.

I know that you love me I feel it deep in my heart,

I haven’t doubted once since our relationship had it’s start.

I know every single one of my needs has been met,

not even one time have you ever disappointed me yet.

But Father ever since the beginning when you created man,

an occasional embrace was part of your plan.

Now the people in my life don’t believe in embracing you see,

so just this one time won’t you please hug me?

I promise I won’t be a bother I won’t pester You any more,

just this once may I have a hug from the one I adore?

I need a hug Lord just hold me tight,

I know it’ll be enough to give me a lifetime of delight!

I Can Pray

When the world about me seems tossed to and fro,
When personal problems begin to trouble me so,
When many heartaches and disappointments come my way,
I am so thankful that I know how to pray.

I'm thankful , too, that I can pray when all is well.
His blessings for me are far too numerous to tell;
But I can thank Him for some of them, one by one,
And can praise Him for all the things He has done.

I can pray and then pause and listen to God speak to me.
This makes communion real and vital, you see.
For prayer with the assurance that God will hear,
And His presence becomes so wonderfully near.
I can pray in the darkness or in the sun's golden light;
O wherever I am, prayer seems to be right.

Oh, I can pray, and this I do cherish!
I pray that my loved ones will not perish.
I pray that they will know this privilege I know,
Then they, too, can thank God for loving them so.

Because I can pray I never feel alone,
For God has promised to draw nigh to His own.
A peace fills my heart and mind each day,
As I rejoice in the knowledge that I can pray!

THE POWER OF GOD

Author Unknown

Have you ever been down and out and nobody seems to be around for you to
talk to...THAT'S GOD...he wants you to talk to him.

Have you ever been just sitting there and all of a sudden you feel like
doing something nice for someone you care for...THAT'S GOD...he talks to you
through the Holy Spirit.

Have you ever been thinking about somebody that you haven't seen in a long
time and then next thing you know you see them or receive a phone call from
them...THAT'S GOD...there is no such thing as "coincidence."

Have you ever received something wonderful that you didn't even ask for,
like money in the mail, a debt that had mysteriously been cleared, or a
coupon to a department store where you had just seen something you wanted,
but couldn't afford...THAT'S GOD...he knows the desires of your heart...

Have you ever been in a situation and you had no clue how it is going to get
better, but now you look back on it...THAT'S GOD... he passes us through
tribulation to see a brighter day...

The Body of Christ

Lord, let me have your eyes,
That I may see the good in everyone

Lord, let me have your hands,
To hold and heal all who need it

Lord, let me have your ears,
To listen to all who need to vent without judging or repeating

Lord, let me have your feet,
To walk in a path that leads me to You

Lord, let me have your wisdom,
To learn in a moment that someone is teaching and to teach in a moment that someone may learn

Lord, let me have your patience,
So that I may not react in the heat of anger

Lord, let me have your heart,
To love everyone, strangers, friends and enemies

Lord, let me have your lips,
To say soothing words to those who need comfort

Lord, let me have your strength,
To help me overcome my weaknesses

Lord, let me have your generosity,
To be able to give more of myself to others

Lord, let me have your peace,
To feel your love and warmth in my heart

Lord, let me be your light,
To help our world become a brighter place

Lord, let me be your instrument,
Play your song through me,
Let it be sweet music that is pleasing for the world to hear

September 27 - Jesus Calling

Relax in My everlasting arms. Your weakness is an opportunity to grow strong in awareness of My Almighty Presence. When your energy fails you, do not look inward and lament the lack you find there. Look to Me and My sufficiency; rejoice in My radiant riches that are abundantly available to help you.

Go gently through this day, leaning on Me and enjoying My Presence. Thank Me for your neediness, which is building trust-bonds between us. If you look back on your journey thus far, you can see that days of extreme weakness have been some of your most precious times. Memories of these days are richly interwoven with golden strands of My intimate Presence.
The eternal God is your refuge, and underneath are the everlasting arms. He will drive out your enemy before you, saying, “Destroy him!” —Deuteronomy 33:27

I am still confident of this: I will see the goodness of the Lord in the land of the living. Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord. —Psalm 27:13–14
